Here’s some Star Trek fanart I drew recently.

While not strictly Star Trek, this next one is a portrait of the actress who does play the character above =P

This next picture is a Star Wars piece which takes place in my own personal SW Universe. The man in the centre is Anakin Skywalker following his fall to the dark side and rise to Dark Lord of the Sith. The woman on his right is his wife, Nashira, while the man on his left is Darth Vader, the second apprentice and foster son of Obi-Wan. The two lightsaber-weilding figures in the background are a pair of Sith acolytes who follow Anakin (I’ll leave it up to you to figure out their identities).

Is it me or does Vader look a bit like Dave Prowse?

Nice! Then there's Anakin, he reminds me of someone too, but I'm not quite sure who.
Shia Labeouf or Keanu Reeves?

It was a couple of months back, but I figured I'd post it now.

It's Peggy Lee, who was a jazz vocalist known for singing songs like Fever, It's a Good Day, and Black Coffee.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

I was actually trying to capture the likeness of Leonardo DiCaprio. That got lost in translation, though, due to how small I had to keep the image to make it fit on the paper. I also made the hair too dark.

Anakin's wife looks kind of like a blow up doll...

Not to rag on the picture, I really like it, the slight resemblance just kind of amused me. I like Anakin's scar and I really like Prowse as Vader. Anakin totally looks like Leo, you're a pretty good artist.

There was so much potential in the PT. It really could have been one of the greatest things ever.

I knew he looked familiar! It was the dark hair that fooled me.

That, and I'm terrible at recognizing faces.

Are you saying Jane Fonda looks like a blow up doll? XD

Well, yeah. Now that you mention it she kind of does...

This next picture pretty much blows my Internet anonymity away. But what’s in a name, anyway?

And just in case anyone’s wondering, the lady to the right is Jennifer Connelly (I don’t think I have to spell out who the lady on the left is).

This is just a rough sketch I did while having to sit through a boring English class. It turned out pretty well for something I had no references for.

I titled this one Self-Portrait of a Serial Psychopath for obvious reasons.

This is a reworking of an earlier piece.

This was a World War I project I had to do for my Social Studies class. It’s full of deliberate anachronisms.

Ooooh an art gallery thread, didn't see this before! (I'm playing 'Vision On' in my head).

Lovin' your stuff DuracellEnergizer, the more abstract pieces are the strongest (The WWI drawing especially). If you want my opinion the following remind me of...

^ Jennifer Lawrence       ^ Leo DiCapprio         ^ David Prowse

(Plus The Bride of Frankenstein and Yul Bryner lol)

As it's Christmas here are a couple of Crimbo Cakes I decorated for my mum years ago...

VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.

I wouldn't say it's art, but I hereby donate this to the greenpenguino gallery in the interest of maximum public exposure.

Approved!

Such disappointment... Greeny hasn't used this once.

I had never heard the term "Crimbo" until NuWho. I like it!

You hit the mark with DiCaprio and Prowse. Nashira was based on Jane Fonda, though.

I've been saving it for a special occasion.

Great art guys,.....what got you all into art?

Star Wars came out when I was 9, I was already artistic, but drawing Star Wars characters & vessels really pushed on my interest.

Art on paper & model kits etc

I started drawing when I was big into Super Mario Bros.

I would draw really bad mario and luigi faces. I eventually got better, but still nothing to brag about.

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. I mostly drew pictures of Batman, police cars, and skeletons back in Kindergarten/Grade 1.

Watched Once Upon a Time in the West, and as soon as I watched the duel scene I knew I had to draw Charles Bronson. It's the absolute best work I've done. I think I've always known I would draw Charles Bronson, it just took a spark to get me to do it.

This thread never really caught my attention before, but I think I'll be brave enough to share some of my artwork (sorry that the pictures aren't showing up. I'm not having any luck making them display properly in the post, so you'll have to right click and select "Open Image in New Tab" if you want to see them).

EDIT: Fixed photos.

Rose Painting

^Sorry it's so dark. The pics I took of it with a flash didn't turn out very well and I had bad lighting. I might replace it with a scanned image when I can get a scanner working. This was my first oil painting, and I have since begun a second. This is the incomplete monochromatic:

Frog Painting

I also do a lot of drawing. This is a typical drawing of mine. I believe I did this particular one when I was twelve:

Pencil Drawing

I don't usually use a reference when pencil drawing, but draw whatever comes to mind when I'm drawing (well, not whatever, but you get what I'm saying) and incorporate most of my mistakes into it.

I'm also into photography. I'm just beginning to learn specific techniques, but I've taken some decent photos while experimenting. I have a good camera, which helps, since the automatic mode is more advanced than in other cameras. :)

Below is a link to my main Flickr page. I usually focus on fish in my aquariums, other living things, sunsets, and clouds. All my photos are unedited except for cropping (I tend to edit photos far less than my posts here :P). And I know I somewhat blew my anonymity (for most of you) but I'm honestly not too concerned if you know my first name (it really doesn't mean anything anyway, especially since it's so common).

^ Nice photos!

If you're having problems displaying flickr photos?

It's because they made it more difficult in the last update. You need to bring up the image, right click and select the resolution you want, then right click again on the resized image and select 'view image' from the drop down-menu, the link in the browser bar will now be what you need to paste into a link.

^ Liked this one a lot.

Thanks Ryan, both for the help and the compliment. I'll see if I can get those pictures to display properly now.

Some more drawings of mine.

I found Vincent surprisingly easy to draw. Usually, I have trouble drawing faces that are on angles like this.

This is the poster for the Ep. I rewrite I’m currently writing. Obviously, it is based on the poster for TPM.

Unfortunately, the scanner picked up too many of the wrinkles in the paper, throwing the whole image off. Also, the lightsaber looks too red; it’s supposed to be pink.

Just a little tribute to Trance Gemini, the beautiful pixie I’m currently using as my avatar.

I’m very pleased with how this drawing came out. I’m reticent to use only pencil crayons in a drawing as they’re next to impossible to erase if I mess up, but I got incredibly lucky and everything came together with a minimum of fuss.
