The Wolfman [Hybrid Cut]

I hadn’t heard anything great about 2010’s Wolfman so I steered clear of it in the theaters. However, I’ve always found Joe Johnston to be a fun director so, when the director’s cut was released later, I finally checked it out.

I liked it well enough, but I thought that it took a bit too long to get going. I later learned that the theatrical cut didn’t have that problem. So, this is a pretty straight-forward combo of the theatrical cut’s quicker opening act and the refinements of the director’s cut.

The theatrical cut was 1 hour 42 minutes. The Director’s Cut is 1 hour 58 minutes. Mine is 1 hour 43 minutes.

The prologue is the Director’s Cut. Then, from the title card to when Gwen’s about to leave for the inn, it’s the Theatrical Cut. After that, it’s all Director’s Cut. These cuts were relatively simple so I’ve made two versions, one with hardcoded subtitles for my ESL students and one without.

An ESL reader adaptation of the movie has also been included and I’ve thrown in two more classic monster movie readers just for fun. The first is an adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula that blends in elements of the Francis Ford Copola film and the second is Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein that with Bernie Wrightson’s gorgeous illustrations.

All this is in the same folder as my other edits. If you don’t already have the link, please send me a PRIVATE MESSAGE. As always, suggestions are welcome.
