Did this really require its own thread?

It does. Mostly because in a few days we'll all be talking about something completly unrelated over here, so it really dosen't matter.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

Okay, so then let's switch the course of this thread. We have a thread for rankings and that sort of top ten. Let's make this the Top 10 movies of 2004 thread. Anyone else agree? Only movies released in 2004 (even if in only limited release and even if it's a 2003 release that you didn't see until 2004).

Here's what I've got so far.

1. The Incredibles
2. The Passion of the Christ
3. Garden State
4. Spanglish
5. Shrek 2
6. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
7. Man on Fire
8. The Bourne Supremacy
9. Before Sunset
10. Miracle

Some honorable mentions include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Spider-Man 2, and Troy (I liked Eric Bana and Brad Pitt in the film; but Orlando Bloom really dragged it down and out of contention for me)

There are others I have yet to see that I get the feeling might make this list. Ray, Kinsey, The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou, The Motorcycle Diaries, Shaun of the Dead, and some others.

Since someone is already trying make this top ten movies of this year, here's mine:
10. Bon Voyage(French espionage thriller)
9. Spartan
8. Maria Full of Grace
7. Supersize Me
6. Broken Wings(family drama from Israel)
5. Terminal
4. Incredibles
3. Hero
2. Before Sunset
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
I would give honorable mention to a few movies that were better than I expected them to be. They are
Butterfly Effect, Dawn of the Dead, Hellboy, I Robot, and Manchurian Candidate.
I haven't seen some of the big year end movies yet like Sideways, Million Dollar Baby, Aviator, Life Aquatic, Closer, or Hotel Rwanda, but the ones on my list are all recomendable.

Damn! Forgot Super Size Me. That would bump off Miracle on my list. I'd probably put SSM up at #7 or 8.

7.Resident Evil II
8.Mean Girls

I haven't seen The Passion, Incredibles, Hero, or Dodgeball. Infact, that's just about every movie I've seen this year except King Arthur.

I thought Collateral was great film until the nightclub sequence. After that, it becomes routine and not very believeable.

Still working on my top 10 list, but it will include Spider-Man 2, The Incredibles and Hellboy. 2004 was a great year for comic-book and superhero movies, which makes Blade: Trinity that much more disappointing.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Was B:T that bad? I just finished rewatching the original Blade and have Blade 2 coming from Netflix very soon just to be able to go see Trinity. Not worth the money, eh?

I didn't really like Day After Tomorrow, sure it had pretty decent effects, but that was it.

Despite the dubious science, I thought it was a pretty good movie.

Granted my opinions may have been influenced by the facts that I was watching it in school and using the forums while I watched it.

And just why are they "dubious" honors?

Blade: Trinity, in any other year, would have been a really good movie; with Spider-Man 2, Hellboy and the Incredibles beating it into the theatres this year though, it comes up lacking. It's not a terrible movie by any means; just disappointing.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Because I wasted a good 60 dollars on quest and 40 dollars on Twin Snakes and I hate both games.
