The Skywalker Trilogy

Hello there!

I have been considering making these edits for a while now, but after several first drafts, I think I’m finally going to begin making them for real.

The idea behind these edits is to shorten the entire Star Wars saga down to a trilogy, which will make rewatching the entire saga a much quicker and easier experience. (For example, this should be very useful if you wanted to quickly rewatch all eight previous films before The Rise of Skywalker comes out.)

So, all three trilogies are shortened to one film each. Please note that each film will have to be slightly over three hours to fit all of the desired content, similar in length to the Lord of the Rings films.
The three films are titled:

THE SKYWALKER TRAGEDY (The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith)

THE SKYWALKER DESTINY (A New Hope, The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi)

THE SKYWALKER LEGACY (The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi) (NOTE: The Rise of Skywalker will be incorporated into this edit once it releases in stores.)

I will try to preserve as much of the original plotlines as possible with the shortened runtimes. New, longer opening crawls will be added to each film to better explain the universe, characters, and political states of the galaxy, in order to have the saga make sense to new viewers.

And since I view Return of the Jedi as the definitive conclusion to the main saga (since it concludes Anakin’s story), “The Skywalker Legacy” film covering the Sequel Trilogy will be optional viewing.

I am not a professional editor by any means, and I’m only using iMovie on my iPad to make these, so they won’t be the highest-quality edits out there. But I wanted to do this project, since no one else has tackled the challenge of reducing each trilogy into a single film (besides the numerous 3-in-1 edits of the Prequels, of course).

I will continue to update this page with my progress as I work on the edits. : )
Thanks for your interest!

Sounds very interesting, I’m sure fitting the OT into 1 movie will be the biggest Challenge, looking forward watch this in anticipation for TROS.
