Since it might take a little work to mask out the windows and such, perhaps Coruscant could just be added to the shot of the Knights’ flying toward the Star Destroyer. Maybe Coruscant could be added to the bottom of the screen, similar to how poppa replaced Endor in that one shot of the Falcon flying toward Kef Bir.

Since we have already changed some 3PO lines and cut out the reference to R2 having his memory backed up, I wanted to go ahead and see if it would be possible to not have R2 reupload 3PO’s memories at all. This is what I came up with.

That way it feels like R2 and 3PO have been speaking for awhile, and we catch back up with them in the middle of a conversation. I also slightly changed 3PO’s lines regarding the transmission to make him speak more objectively, since he may not have been caught up on who Luke is yet. It might not be right for Ascendant, but I thought I’d go ahead and share it.
How to give Finn an arc as an actual force user:
On the Star Destroyer, Jannah plugs in the turret but it sparks and then makes a sound like it shuts down.

This would likely require a bit of vfx for the Finn close up with eyes closed as there’s not ideal material that would fit right in.

I’ve been thumbing through the latest workprint, and I’m loving most of the changes. The only thing I’m not so keen on is how the Knights of Ren on Passana is moved up to break up the underground sequence. I wonder if it would be better to just move the little Leia/Rose/Snap scene there instead? I think it would be fine to cut straight from the quicksand to to everyone falling through on the bottom, since I don’t think there’s any doubt that our heroes are going to survive, and they’re still in a relative state of peril, so I don’t think it would take away from the Leia scene either.

First, I almost jumped out of my chair when I heard the “Look sharp” audio from Finn at the beginning. I know it’s soo small but the fact that I contributed in anyways made me so happy.
Second, in the workprint there is no audio for the steam during that scene, it makes the scene as is feel empty. Anyone else have thoughts on that?
After being beaten and battered by prequel hate, I promise not to be that to the next generation.
Given that we have a planet from each trilogy, I think a logical and exciting step may be to include a planet from outside of the nine movies. A Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian or even video game cameo would be exciting, and not unprecedented given Kanan and Ahsoka’s cameo.
Personally, my vote would go to Dathomir for appearing in both animated series as well as Jedi: Fallen Order, and I imagine the latter would have a realistic enough shot to insert a Star Destroyer into. Failing that, Nevarro, Mandalore, or even a planet from Rogue One or Solo (Corellia?) would be neat.
