Yes, I have all those lines saved and I believe I have implemented all of them that I would like to use into my timeline, although I can’t boot into the OS to check at the moment.
About the “come home” line… for an artificial line and setting aside the creepy factor that comes with that (although less so than what they actually did with Leia in TROS overall), it is an affecting line delivery. I can’t tell for sure whether it’ll sound as smooth as it’d need to with full reverb and all, but I’d be interested in pursuing that to see.
Yeah, I think the only real missing piece is 3PO dialogue, which is not strictly necessary but would be nice. The two bits are the little conversation with the stormtroopers and when he’s working on the Falcon.
Perhaps 3PO could have an AI generated delivery of a form of the line as it stands in V2? “I am a highly trained Resistance spy,” or maybe “I am a dangerous killing machine” or “I am an expert saboteur.” I like the line as we have it, but it’s not obvious why he should know what the “Resistance” is.
For the line onboard the Falcon, perhaps, “What tedious work. What we really need is a mechanic, ideally an R-2 unit!”

I’m currently generating a bunch more 3PO lines. Eleven labs introduced a feature that lets you describe the voice with a paragraph, so I asked GPT-4 to describe his voice and put that in there. The results appear to be a bit better. I’ll post what I can later today.

Wow I think that’s definitely better. Now that AI voices are in the mix, I wonder if there is a way to smooth out the cut of the dagger lining up in the wreckage to DS II to Jannah and company arriving behind them? Right now Poe says “watch out”, but I think it would be less jarring of a cut if he was a little more explicative. Maybe something like “Someone’s coming”.
Anyway just a thought. Gotta say I’m pretty stoked to see this new version of Ascendant. I feel like it’ll smooth out a lot of the things that were somewhat noticeable in the previous versions.

Just had a thought: I wonder if with these new AI tools, we can get a cleaner/different inflection for the “I am a Jedi” line for Rey during the climax. I know TONS of work had been done to that line up to this point but I never was a fan with how it sounded, despite it working. Plus, I always hated how her inflection during that scene is so rushed. I always felt it should be something more akin to “I AM a Jedi” rather than her being like “iamajedi”.
I think “I’m” is more fitting since she’s responding to what Palpatine just said. But I agree, it sounds fair to attempts to use an AI voice and see how it does compared to what’s there, even though I’d be hard pressed to replace it!

What if the infamous “and I’m all the jedi” was changed instead to “and I am WITH all the jedi”? Maybe that simple “with” added would go really well with the force ghosts scene.

Just want to drop by and say thank you to everyone who has contributed to these fan-edits of the sequel trilogy, and especially to Hal for leading the projects. I’ve always liked TFA och TLJ, but the Hal 9000-edits of them have really improved them and truly made the brilliance of TLJ shine; so much so that it is now one of the greatest films in the saga. This TROS project has also given the sequel trilogy a serviceable conclusion, the Rey Nobody cut was just what I needed. 😃 I’ve made custom Blu-rays of them that now sit nicely on my movie shelf!
I see that you’re all working on a v.3 of TROS:A, will there be a lot of new additions, some A.I voicelines?
It’s up to Hal to decide what works best for the Rey Nobody cut. The stuff I’ve submitted thus far is for the main cut, but I’m sure some of it could be used there, too.
I’ve already shared my audio source files with a few people in the community, so I’m sure they could use the voices to make the Nobody cut better. I’m thinking mostly of the Kylo Ren voice in saying that. I feel like it could be used to great effect in the hangar scene.

Is it possible (without too much effort I mean) to add german (or other) audio tracks to your edits? I have 3 kids. I don’t want them to see all the cringe. A few days ago they watched “A new hope” in original version in a cinema! First time I saw this movie in a cinema sinc 1978! It was totally awesome. I think there won’t be a screening of “the empire strikes back”. I doubt they have a copy of it. I’m going to show my kids the despecialized versions of part 5 and 6, or 4k80 and 4k83. Don’t know yet.
But what can I show them for episodes 1,2,3,7 and 8? They don’t speak english well enough yet. Doesn’t have to be perfect. There where some jumps (seconds) in the old 35mm copy, probaly burned or torn bits but in the end the kids didn’t mind.
Any suggestions?

I was rewatching this edit and I have an idea I’ll throw your way Hal. The exchange between 3PO and R2 after the “we go together” moment, before the crew departs in the Millennium Falcon, where 3PO says something like “if I don’t make it back I want you to know you’re a real friend” to R2 just feels kind of on the nose and maybe could be justified if the character later on actually dies. But he doesn’t and this exchange feels somewhat out of character and unnatural.
I was watching the 1977 documentary “Making of Star Wars” which is on the OT blu-ray set and 3PO and R2 had an exchange that might work well in this moment. With this exchange, 3PO’s remark would point towards the conclusion of the story without being completely on-the-nose.
