Nope! However, the main shot that seems different (the ghosts in profile with raised hands) seems to fit in well with no obvious difference in quality when ripped from his demo clip dropped into the timeline. So there’ll be that.

The other different shot that I recall is Obi-Wan moving his face. However, I found the effect less than convincing so I wouldn’t have included that one anyway. So while having the full clip would be better, we’ve got what we need for right now.

Oh nice! If I read that right, then that’s great news!

The one shot that never worked great for me in V1 was that shot where they’re hands were raised because of how noticeable it was that the scene was using Anakin force choking Padme during ROTS.

I was advocating for this earlier this year but Hal has already said pretty much that he’s not wanting to do it. 😦

As for the two shots vs. three shots debate, I like the two shot particularly the edit poppasketti just recently posted.

Consider Mustafar wrapped up for V2. Nev’s most recent take on it is where it’s at. I just need to swap the audio channels and adjust sync to fit. No one would believe that out of everything done for this project more time and words were spent on this than anything else.

Nice! Once I get the final bits and pieces from sherlock and/or CaptainFaraday I can finalize the audio and sync lock the picture. That’ll open the door for me to at least be able to work on some of the other things while waiting on the crackly saber effects to materialize.

Not necessarily in terms of time, but at least logically, we’re getting there!

Totally! It caught my eye immediately, and really sells the transition towards new terrain for me. Beautifully done, Nev!

(just a note I sent over a new pass of the ties to Nev, since the Biomes in/out has shifted, the ties needed to be adjusted accordingly, so that should be in the final)

I apologize if I dont follow the threads as closely but where did u get that idea to expect a Rey Nobody version as well? It takes sooooo long just to get one version of an edit out let alone another one.

Not remotely likely. And again, the Rey Nobody project is separate from me for right now. Whenever (and in principle, if ever) it is more or less complete and ready to go, I plan to insert it into Ascendant and release it as an alternate version.

It’s got skenera’s LUT applied as well, so it’d be about how the final, cc’d fan edit will be.

This is stellar work everyone. Not to be nitpicky but I miss the very pronounced audio hit on that cut to Kylo, I think it was a mix of music and SFX. Gives it a nice impact.

Just my $0.02 as an audio nerd! Other than that it’s an enormous improvement over the theatrical opening.

Shame we won’t get to see the sabers fizzling out at the end of the film due to MoviesRemastered’s situation, but I guess that’s what future revisions are for. 🤷‍♂️

Perhaps. It’d be nice, but at least it doesn’t impact any other changes to make or not make so we’ll see.

MR did also say he hopes to set aside a few FX changes like that to leave as unique to his project, which is perfectly reasonable.

Looks terrific, Hal! The lighting and coloring in the Biomes shot matches how Mustafar looked in the film and Swedish forest fire shot.

Yeah it’s definitely there. It’s just a couple of frame, so Nev, if you can patch it up, great, but if not I can fix that sometime in the next few days. Can you let me know which version of the shot you used, the main or the alt?
