I forgot if jonh said he’d be interested in doing a version with Sebastian Shaw or not. I wish he’d come back around soon. For all we know, he could finish the crackly saber sequences since he’s already done a far grander sequence in this project.

When speaking privately with Jonh, he informed me that he would try taking a crack at it.

Hello! These are the shots in which it has been possible for me to change Luke’s hair, there are other shots in which it is impossible: a thousand generations … it is impossible, for me at least.
I have also lost two kilos of weight to Luke

I’ve gotta be honest: I could never tell there was anything wrong with the fixes jonh applied here. It all looks great to me. It’s probably one of those things I’d notice if somebody pointed it out to me but anything is better than the original lol.

I really don’t, either. If Nev is all right with applying his nighttime effect to that clip I could go ahead and implement it. And remain open to new footage to come from jonh at a potential future point.

Well done. I will disengage self-destruct initiative.

It was pointed out there are a few rogue floating hairs on a few frames and other minor things, since Neverar will already be working on it I’m sure he could fix up anything he finds, though I don’t presume to impose that on him.

Looking at Nev’s work on the Force Awakens deleted scenes and the Han dice scene I completely trust that he could fix anything that’s wrong. I think implementing this now and waiting for Jonh in the future is a great idea. Also how’s the Kijimi riot idea? I think that’s great and I would love to try and help with that.

Agreed, Luke desperately needs to lose the long hair and few extra pounds Jonh trimmed off to fix that scene and make it watchable. With all the other added changes to the Luke scene, the final version will look like a masterpiece compared to the original.

EDIT: Especially with the de-blued Luke ghost

This thread was created on December 29, 2019, wouldn"t it be great if V2 was released two years later?

Sure it would. But we’ll have to see. The ingredients will be there when they will, and I’ll put it together. It’s all bound up and set at this point.

I’ve been combing through the behind the scenes footage, mainly because I’m hoping to incorporate some extra shots into the Kijimi sequence. As I was going through though, I also went ahead and pulled every other shot I could find that might potentially be added somewhere in the film with minimal touch-ups. I know some shots have been considered or even included in Ascendant already - and the shots that remain likely won’t work for any number of reasons - but I thought it might be worth looking through them again with fresh eyes. Maybe add an extra landscape shot or two on Pasaana? More footage at Leia’s funeral? An extra shot on Endor? I dunno; I’m just looking for more ways to slow the pacing.

I rendered it as uncompressed to preserve as much information as possible, so the file’s kind of large.

That’s great Sherlock! However many people here, including myself, won’t be able to download the file at once with the free version of Mega, is there any way you could provide a link just for viewing as well?

thanks for sharing sherlock. If/when i have more time, i would definitely like to see if I can purpose some of the footage of the red sith troopers and resistance fighting on the star destroyer to give more feeling, stakes and intensity of the battle. Will probably need help adding some blast effects to it.

You know, I think one of the reasons jonh has been gone for a while is that he’s busy with his career as a filmmaker.

One last thing about Sebastian Shaw, it is possible for someone to take footage of Tobey Maguire’s head from movies and go frame by frame to turn him into Shaw.

Also, is it still being worked on for the final shot to be an overhead shot of Tatooine in space as the Falcon makes the jump to lightspeed?

I would love to see this idea fully realized. I posted a mockup of it a while ago but my experience is nowhere close to where it would need to be to pull it off. I think the music just needs to extend out a bit. I’m just not a fan of it cut straight from Rey’s theme to the credits 🤷‍♂️

@Dat_SW_Guy had a mockup he made:

Why are you so fixated on Tobey Maguire?? I’m confused.

It’s because someone managed to recreate Sebastian Shaw from an image of Maguire, due to the two of them having the same, or at least similar, head shape.

I was actually working on smoothing out that music cue; hopefully I’ll get something out soonish.

Can we please keep the Shaw discussion to the other thread from now on? Hal vetoed the idea months ago, and has several times since.
