I think the idea to keep the “Hit those underbelly cannons” would work fine if someone could record some lines like “aye aye” or “roger that” to follow it up so that the “every … is a world saved” can be trimmed off smoothly.

It didn’t sound right to me to abruptly cut off Poe mid-line the way it is delivered.
And I didn’t hear anything that sounded super fitting in that battlefront clip. 😕
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.
FWIW - I don’t remember if it was this edit that was using a subtle DOTF drop (taken from John Powell’s Solo score) but the deluxe version of that score is going to be released digitally soon, so a better/cleaner rip of that music can be sourced from there when it comes out.
I was able to add the sound effects to the Falcon preparing the jump to lightspeed through the ice wall. There are only a few frames left in the shot after he pulls the lever, but I think it’s still a subtle addition that’s nice.

We had toyed with the idea of adding Chewie’s theme from Solo when Rey senses he is alive, but it didn’t feel right for this movie.

I think they’re referencing the bit of Duel of the Fates during the Rey-Kylo duel on the Death Star wreckage. If you’re using the version from Maul’s appearance in Solo, this upcoming soundtrack release might provide a higher quality version.
Ooohh, of course, thanks!
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.
Also: a possible alternate for the repeated trailer music requests might be the slow statement of the main title heard when Han first sees the Falcon from the Solo soundtrack.

Can’t imagine it won’t be. The current version of that track is ripped from the surround channels, isn’t it? This will be taken from the studio recordings directly, not an after-the-fact rescue job from the film mix.
Even so, that rescue job fits perfectly in its new context anyway.
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.
Even as I type, I had to skim through the film to remind myself that the Kylo-Palpatine conversation had been moved from heading to Endor. And it introduced a continuity error I don’t believe anyone picked up on until you did.
Perhaps the simplest fix would be to replace or remove the line, “I know where she’s going.”
But that’s still true, isn’t it? Now, it refers to the Knights of Ren tracking them through hyperspace. I actually thought that was a really clever way to repurpose that line.
Yeah, this came up before. I had thought it was an issue, but it makes sense if you think about it. “I know where she’s going” = “The Knights are following her.” The very next scene we see the Knights are there in the asteroid belt with them.

I imagined that was the case, still maybe it could be mixed with another short line. I like it’s purpose as a reminder of the cannons blow up = ships blow up thing.
Here’s a pretty good resource of Oscar Isaac voiced Poe lines. Would any of these work?
There is too much moaning and groaning for me to handle in that video, lol.
Save the Sebastian Shaw Ghost! Save the dream…!
Good find! I didn’t hear anything that would be perfect, but I’ll see if one of his phrases from TFA would work. Should be easier to combine since it’ll have a radio filter.
Maybe something like, “Hit those underbelly cannons, give ‘em everything you got!”

I think it is time for me to request a workprint link too.

I dunno how to remove the watermark either lol.
We zoom the shot slightly and then employ an upscaler. Won’t be perfect but should be servicable enough.
Were there any explicit references to Rey’s dad being a failed clone of Palpatine?
I do not think the timeline would add up on that, plus it would feel really forced. Another clone? Fully with HAL on this one, we should not even try.
Watching the Ben vs KOR,(…)
I think we missed a trick not having one (or all) screaming ‘Traitor!!!’
Mirroring Kylo himself (to Finn) at the end of TFA.
I really like this. Remind me, what exactly was done here now? HAL mentioned an “earlier” line?
So say we all.
I understood that Star Trek DS9 reference! /s
It is actually more of a Battlestar Galactica (reboot) reference.
For seventeen years the renegade Pfhor scoutship jumped between the closely packed stars of the galactic core. And all over the ship, dancing through the wreckage of the Pfhor computer core, Durandal was laughing…
Sir Ridley has removed the watermark, and I think it looks pretty good. He says he used some content aware filters and sharpening. So that’s done!
Poe dialogue from TFA doesn’t blend very well with the first half of the line, since there is no gap whatsoever between the two. It’d be nice to replace it, but I guess no one had a problem with it before this ILM shot turned up.

I know (/s = sarcasm) i said DS9 because Ronald D Moore (main producer of BSG) also worked in that show xD.
Here is the shot with visuals and sound lid in. what do you think?

Hm, “Hit those underbelly cannons” sounds a little weird with nothing following it, but not enough to ruin the scene. All in all pretty nice!

You can tell it cuts off

I’m always kinda late for these videos, lol.
It looks and sounds amazing to me. I LOVE the longer shot and the added ships (it IS a longer shot, right?).

Here’s a line from Poe about “cannons” from Lego Star Wars, but idk how much might be usable.
