Was wondering, though, what music do you intend to swap with for the end scene?
Was going to slide the TFA end credits ditty that you’re using, like in the previous vimeo link I posted, but with a bit of a bridge/new lead-in notes after “A New Home” to lead in so it’s less abrupt and awkward. May play with the timing a bit and tweak it further. Currently, just a crazy idea in my head. But I have all the tools at my disposal, so I may as well try!
If that fails, Bea Arthur or “Life Day” it is!

I don’t remember, either, but it’s true. Just feels extremely fan film-y and is not needed.

Amazing! I love it. My only suggestion would be to linger on the ghost shot a bit longer (if possible). Now that Ben is there it takes a bit longer to fully take in and enjoy the sight of them all together. But all in all that’s a great ending sequence. So nice to see happy Ben and the Falcon.

It’d be pretty easy to use Nvidia Slowmo or some other AI to extend the duration of that shot, but I suppose you’d have to cut the previous shot(s) a little shorter to maintain music sync.

Goddammit, got me again. If Leia can sing it dietetically, it’s a deal.
I really wouldn’t mind a gag reel from you to include as a bonus video.
And I wouldn’t mind having the music go longer to reach that little SWisy sendoff, but I like where it comes in and interacts with everything up to the Falcon.
I would say that the ghost shot’s brevity would help hide any imperfections… if there were any!

It’d be pretty easy to use Nvidia Slowmo or some other AI to extend the duration of that shot, but I suppose you’d have to cut the previous shot(s) a little shorter to maintain music sync.
I think perhaps it could loop backwards at the end (since they stand so still), combined with a digital zoom to continue the camera move. Maybe. The music sync could be a problem of course.

If you have After Effects, you could possibly use Mocha to track the camera movement/push in to create the zoom in on the reused footage.

Hey jonh! Can I be extra picky? last Ben ghost image is amazing, I just think the color level on Ben’s cloak need to be adjusted very slightly to match the bluer whites of Luke and Leia. Also comparing the sizes again, I think he still might be a tiny bit too big, at least if you compare the size of his head to Mark’s. I understand if you would rather not but I think its so super close, and we can match the colors and the size it will be seamless.
…Also I think the left most side of his sleeve is a bit too wide but that doesnt really need to be changed.
You are awesome, I think its great work you’ve been doing here.

I think Ben’s height is pretty accurate. Think the reason Ben’s scale feels off is because we’ve never really seen him standing besides Leia in the films, and he barely interacted with Luke onscreen. But the height difference is much more noticeable in the promotional events whenever Adam Driver appears next to Carrie or Mark; he really is that tall.

Here’s another version of the extra lever shot. I extended Chewie’s grown, which hopefully works, and used a different piece of buffer audio from earlier in the scene that doesn’t have the wind that was causing issues.

Going back to the Poe pulling the lever, this looks great.
That said, Hal, I took your edit and added the sound of the hyperdrive kicking in. The change is subtle but I really think it helps to sell that sequence.

FWIW, I had an issue with the size too until I googled “Adam Driver next to Carrie Fisher” and then “Adam Driver next to Mark Hamill” and realized Ben is actually smaller than he would be. Adam Driver is massive lol. I don’t think it’s an issue anymore since I think he’d look weird smaller but also awkward any taller
Yeah you are right for sure with the height. I should have been more specific when I said big I really meant I think his head needs to be a bit smaller and his body needs to be made a little less wide.
