I wish that the film had, instead of having everyone show up at Exegol, showed a coordinated effort against the First Order across the galaxy. Earn the star destroyers crashing above Bespin and the Forrest Moon of Endor.

I get how once the navigation goes out that all the Star Destroyers crash but the Resistance ships miraculously don’t… but what about the rest of the First Order throughout the galaxy? If everyone went to Exegol, who was fighting everywhere else?

The easiest fix that would require hardly any work would be to cut Lando’s scene until after Uncle Palps is dead as well… then it would be more believable that they came at the last second and finished off the fleet… maybe

Yes, that is definitely the easiest fix. However, if Lando doesn’t arrive until after “the senate” dies then we lose Palpatine’s force lighting into the sky which might not be the worse thing since I still scratch my head as it how he didn’t lightening his own forces during this.

Yeah, Lightning into the sky was meant to combat the Lando ex Machina… moving it to later would make that even less earned of an ending. In my edit, I moved a lot of the Resistance stuff later, making Rey be there for longer, which also allows Lando more time to catch up. It’s still a little rough, and convenient, but I feel like it helps it not be that everyone roughly arrives at about the same time.

I tried to make everyone sound like they were actually coming through the comms, while widening the sound so it surrounds the viewer a bit for a sense of scale. Let me know if at any point the layering is too dense or empty, or if any specific lines should stand out more or be buried a bit more.

Magnificent! The comlink effect is seamless! Watching and hearing this was so moving.

Maybe you could move the “we believe in you Poe” to after Finn’s line, as Chase Adams did, and in its place put the Mon Calamari line so it can stand out a bit.

I just came to say I’ve updated Options A and Option E of the Falcon end shot (pw: fanedit) with a few new tweaks, and I think this is close to end of the road for work on this! I’ll make both links downloadable and post to my Master Clips folder in the next day or two with any final tweaks.

For both, I made the Lars Homestead smaller by 10%. It may not sound like much, but it is significant. At first, I tried it at 20% smaller and, in my opinion, it felt like the composition was out of scale and unbalanced. I do recommend Option E overall because I feel like the pacing and scale feel much better to me, but to each his or her own!

And here’s that Very Important Update to the Tie Replacement Alts.

Option E looks great, though I’m not completely sold on that lens flare. I do like the second little flare and I like the flare in the moment it passes the camera, but after that it’s not perfect for me. I think it’s just one of those subconscious things where you can just kinda tell it’s not quite right for whatever reason. I think lens flares are just a little pesky like that. Maybe an option F without it?

Dom, I agree on the flare. It might be just a bit much in the middle of the shot (I agree the 2nd smaller one looks good). If you think it looks good just as it passes the camera, I’ll taper it off much faster so it doesn’t linger so much! Thank you!
