Hey Vaderios, could you do some mock up of some lightsaber scenes. I have always felt the lightsabers looked too lightly colored. They need to look more like ROTS

The funny thing is that the sabers look so damn wrong in TMP. no idea how i can fix them. I tried many times before.
I see what i can do.

Ok. According with the AOTC and ROTS canon fot the lightsabers, the saber has not gradients( not overpowered too), the core is solid as the color too.

TPM really does look like theres a cloud over all the scenes, everything always has some kind of low contrast filter on it. it would be good if the ROTS treatment was applied to the whole PT.
The only thing that TPM has over the other two is that their are more physical sets. I got real tired of all the blue screen stuff.

At least they made miniatures...

i agree with that, tpm is much better in that respect, and i do think it isnt given as much credit as it deserves. BUT it does just seem to lack that ephemeral ingredient which is star wars for me.:P

CGI, matte paintings, models, sets and actors are just means to an end (telling a story).
I wouldn't mind if everything in Star Wars was CGI, if the story was worth telling and told well.
The first thing that needs to be fixed is the story and then it's a case of tweaking the elements for making that story work.
With Jedi and the prequels the biggest flaws come from the story elements.
If we can find a way of fixing the story everything else becomes a matter of applying the tools at our disposal to the repaired story elements.

ive been thinking about bingowings idea for the opening on naboo, what if after the crawl, we pan down, and see a federation ship approaching. this approaches and docks with a battleship which is giant in comparison. we then pan out to see that there are hundreds of battleships blockading the planet.
would it be worth making a rough plot line, so we can figure out what is rearranged where, and what would need to be crafted from new?

Shouldn't that scooter be changed into a hover-bike?
And the sky/clouds should be different, too. ;)

imho your lightsaber blade cores are just a smidge too thick. also they should be the same thickness from begining to end and not taper from ignition point to blade end like it does in that shot of Obi-wan on board the trade federation ship and the begining of TPM earlier in this thread.
My two cents...

Yes. the particular pic has the saber too pointy (Rush remember). But OT an PT lightsabers haven't the same thickness from beginning to end.

the blue always struck me as darker/deeper in PT, or is that just me?

Yes! Also the colors in PT has no white gradients make them more solid energy. I like this effect.

i must admit i do prefer the sounds/colours of PT sabers, especially how the red ones sound different. how would you feel vaderios about just having blue sabers in PT? varying blues though, so even turquoise and indigo, but leaving the green as something for ROTJ?

Not so happy i have to admit. Still i prefer Windu have a blue/green.
Variations of blue it will become something like KOTOR.

Why Sidius shouldn't stay in coruscant as well?
-Angel
I suppose you could always have palps as a hologram & maul could just walk up to him?
Bingowings said: Do you want to see the project finished as a playable film or a flick book?
it would be good if sidious is only ever seen as a hologram throughout TPM and AOTC, it would distance him from his minions, and would make him seem more illusive.
MAYBE in TPM, if all scenes of maul and sidious were cut, we could be lead to believe that MAYBE maul was sidious, so we are left confused in the same manner as the jedi. though to be honest, those scenes are some of TPM's redeeming features.
