Yup.
Maybe something like this could be worked into Kaminio.

Do you prefer something like this? :D
That was my first thought when I saw Angel's pic too. Kamino looks so bright and sterile. It needs some grit and darkness.
A cloning facility like a timbana gas mining facility. must have some similarities. Even we dont get any other mention if they are other cloners in the galaxy.
Something more industrial..more real.

I agree that the look of Kamino's interiors is a little too clean, but why exactly would a cloning facility be dirty and gritty? Aren't labs and hospitals and environments like that always sterile and clean looking?
Personally, I like how most of Kamino looks, it's something very different from what we've seen before in Star Wars.
I think it's more that they look too much like what they are (a computer generated environment), too bright, too plastic, not solid, not real.
There's nothing wrong with using CGI, even using it to be stylistically fantastic but it should be consistent with look of the fantastic universe it exists in.
The Hoth hanger generally looks real, the Death Star hanger too, both are fantastic large environments, the Rebel Hanger in ROTJ looks like a series of paintings and Kamino looks like a cut scene from a computer game.
Just had a thought which I'm fairly sure hasn't been mentioned before, and is not necessarily something I want to see done and may even be seen as a blatant fan service by some people, but it might provoke some interesting discussion all the same.
Anyway, we hear Vader tell Boba Fett in TESB "no disintegrations". What if we actually saw this previously favoured method of Boba's first hand in Episode 2? (in an edit where the character of Jango is changed into Boba of course).
heres an idea,
loose Yoda's walking stick, at least until after the battle with palp's.

Having adult Boba Fett shoot Zam in AOTC and have her slowly crumble into dust Dracula style would be a world of cool.
That's exactly the scene I imagined in in, Bingo. But not crumbling into dust. More like this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xbVTx2TvWQ
Of course, the lines about it being a "toxic dart" would be removed.
I loved playing that game, even if the enemies spawned in the most improbable areas.
But still it would be fun if Boba had a disintegrator dart (turns his victims to dust leaving the dart as a calling card).
It would be especially useful for people who dare to inform on his activities (a bit like a mafia hit).
No evidence of who the victim was left just a daring message from the bounty hunter fraternity to keep your mouth shut if you know what's good for you.
This was just for fun...but it got me thinking what could be possible...
Attack of the Clones: Alternate Timeline Edit Thread:

^^ That is a cool idea if it could be fit into the story and pulled off realistically. There are too many 2 against 1 duels in the PT.
A radical idea I had for the TPM which would shorten the run time considerably would be to just begin the film at the point where the Queen escapes Naboo with the Jedi on her damaged starship, and everyone is forced to land on Tattooine.
I feel like this might mirror ANH more by just throwing the viewer right into the thick of things. The opening text could be changed to still give some back-story but also might include a summary of some of the material cut out.
Turmoil has engulfed the GALACTIC REPUBLIC.
The greedy TRADE FEDERATION, has blockaded the
peaceful world of Naboo with battle ships seeking to place
the helpless planet under their direct control.
Two JEDI KNIGHTS striking a valiant blow to the
Federation Army rescued Queen Padme Amidala of Naboo.
Now aboard her damaged cruiser Padme’ and her new allies are
attempting to escape the Federation clutches and restore
peace to the galaxy…
The opening scenes in TPM have some good parts here and there but by completely cutting them all out maybe some of the better parts could be used later in the movie somehow? Also all of the heavy Jar Jar stuff would instantly go away.
Not sure if this would work, but just figured I'd throw it out there for discussion.
That's a cool idea.
The crawl recedes into the distance.
The camera pans down (facing away from the surface of the planet) to a ring of giant blockade ships orbiting the planet. Without warning, the distant giant ships begin to shoot a battery of laser-fire directly at the camera. Suddenly, a chrome spaceship flies directly overhead of the camera, manuvering wildly as it races towards the blockade.
Finally, a version that starts with Ric as the action hero!
I like that idea. Some of the scenes on board the Federation ship could be reinserted to have the Jedi Knights sent to "force a settlement" during or just before the final battle; we could then transplant the duel to the Federation ship. The problem then would be how that would relate to Anakin's role in the battle.
That's another interesting variation DF.
It could add to the set with Padme starting on Coruscant when the Federation attack and having her fight her way back to Naboo (only to be shot down and limp to Tatooine on the way).
In either variation you could have Anakin destroy a Federation ship (but not the only one).
Allowing for the Federation ship scenes to be shifted to the end and the duel to take place on the Federation command ship.
^^ Thanks man.
I think I mostly had the classic opening of ANH in mind when I thought of it. If something like that could be used in conjunction with some of the other cool ideas I've read here all the better.
One thing that is really missing from the PT is the idea of a hero ship.
A ship with real character that is carried through the whole trilogy (like a certain freighter of renown in the OT).
It would take a lot of work but instead of repairing the Queen's ship they could replace it with something a bit funky and Padme keeps it for sentimental reasons it could turn up in every film.
It would mean tinkering with the existing interiors and designing a totally new exterior (hence the hard work) but this is the Radical Redux Thread.
exactly ^
That thought occurred to me yesterday too. We need a recurring ship. Something with more character than 'chrome luxury ship #136'
I've always loved this ship from the game X-Wing Alliance. It's a YT-2000 as opposed to a YT-1300 like the Millennium Falcon.
I have heard this discussion before (though not on here), and I think that's a pretty good idea, if we could fit it in the story. Personally, I don't really see it fit with the PT as it is.
It fit in the story of the OT because it was Han's personal ship and we spend a great deal of time with him. But this doesn't really apply for the PT. I think this has to do with the bigger scope of the PT: we see more characters, more planets, more cultures and the trilogy plays over a longer period of time.
For example: the Naboo have their own distinctive style of ships, but we only really see those in TPM because the story is set there. In AOTC, Amidala has her own ship, but it gets blown up. The Jedi also have their own fighters in AOTC, but those have changed again in ROTS because the visual style of the movie is trying to move towards that of the OT.
Also, having a hero ship in the PT just because the OT has one sounds a bit like repeating itself, like Lucas is already accused of in the PT.
The Naboo have their ships of state.
The running gag could be that while they look lovely they always get shot down or blown up (the red shirt ships of the new PT).
When forced to land on Tatooine, the Royal Yacht is damaged and maybe Watto has a funky looking ship which is a good ship but still more expensive than trading in the badly damaged Royal Yacht (this is what Anakin races for, the extra money).
Perhaps it could be used instead of the refugee ship in AOTC too (the galley scene could be given a different background to make it like those scenes in the Falcon when people are sitting back, playing chess or musing on dead knights).
As a Senator Padme still has to use the Naboo ships on state visits but when she travels to Tatooine she could take the funky ship (her own personal property) and when she tries to find her husband the funky ship flies one last time.
Anakin could have added interesting modifications to it over the years but it could also be a place where Padme could let her hair down (literally considering what George likes to do with it).
I see what you mean about mirroring the OT but on the flip side I thought the PT seemed to skewed towards putting as many toys out as possible, no central villain, no central ship because each new thing could be sold as a new toy.
This led to a world which there is no sense of growing attachment to the objects and characters contained in it.
Threepio and Boba Fett on the other hand are given bizarre origins and very little to do which is consistent with their defined roles. They are only there to carry them over to the OT with very little thought given to what they are doing (as dumb fan service goes having Vader build the Falcon makes more sense than having him build Threepio so he can act like a twit for two films and have his memory erased in the third after doing hardly anything).
Good points, Bingowings. I'm not against having a hero ship per se, I just can't find any place in the story (as it is) for it. A personal ship for Anakin would be cool. A ship he'd have in AOTC, and one that he keeps tinkering with during the war to make it more effective. I think that would really add to his character.
I'm all for a more consistent visual style in the prequels. All 3 prequels kind of have their own look (with AOTC and ROTS being a little closer to each other). Carrying over some designs from movie to movie could help give the prequels a more consistant and less random look. This random look might also be because the movies take place on so many different worlds, but the OT was very epic as well and has a very distinctive and own look.
TPM and ROTS look the best of the prequels I think. TPM benefits from lot of location shooting and having a very "real" and grounded look, while ROTS approaches the "70's" style of ANH the best in use of colors. Especially Utapau looks like it could have been in the OT. In AOTC most things look plastic.
