I love the way that Lucas up until very recently was saying something along the lines of "We tried to give them a better Yoda and they didn't like that" and that the CGI Yoda was purely down to him leaping about like a nutter in the next two prequels.

I can't get the suspicion out of my head that the TPM puppet was deliberately made rubbish to get the CGI Yoda through without protest.

If the puppet had been perfect there would be no way they would be able to pull off the Yoda State Circus moves that George had in mind.

You know if Rick Baker had built TPM Yoda, that puppet would've been a work of art.

Alarm is red now(more convenient)

OTize de modernize the holo, place the planet in the correct possition. Now if you look the previous shots in the same camera angle you will notice that the masking compostiting as the light contrast changes dramaticaly...

Made Ric more handsome and awesome :)

Ship shooting after the shields are up making Ric a war hero

EDIT:

Its funny but most of the errors are in the identical shots:

I fixed most of them(if not all).

Added sparks to floor.

The one alien guy hasnt move at all. Probably a dummy.

Right click to see them in full size

Same here. Moving Backgrounds from their own

Right now Impress me making this shot work:

Colors ,Position, Bad perspective, different lightning, even some details are different........

Because the smarties from ILM used the same element from the landing shot(pic one) and distort them. the shot is WRONG!

Shot 1 Quigon deflects a laser and makes a mark. Shot 2 the mark is gone

Nice work.  Although it doesn't make me more handsome and awesome.  It just makes it more obvious.

Hahaha - nice job on Ric's makeup :D

The other shots look gorgeous - love the saber reflections as always.

Here's the problem with "fixing" the PT. Many of the fixes require story changes, not mere vfx enhancements.

We need to look at ways to enhance the story visually.

Good stuff there Angel. One thing tho. I would suggest removing the "Queen thanking r2" scene. It just seems weird that a Queen is thanking a droid. And why does the fake Amidala send the real Amidala to clean him>?? ;/

If the linear approach were to be taken R2 could be replaced with Anakin so the Queen is thanking him for winning the race and the parts they need to return to Naboo instead of thanking a droid (something pretty that hardly happens in a Star Wars film unless it's Luke or Anakin).

Hmm, that's not a bad idea. Then Padme has to wipe down Anakin with a wet rag - but that's not a PG story.

Thats really not a bad idea at all Bingo.

I would keep the scene in there but take out all the stupid thankings, somehow give the queen a more sarcastic blank stare at r2.  Ya know, after this scene was pointed out in the review, it just seems so stupid now.

You could even show the parts of the scene in a different order, have R2 introduced, the queen nods here head, then on to something else.

Vaderios, those before and afters are stunning.  OT-izing the film will right off the bat, make the movie seem more serious.

Ric's cockpit looks so ANH now. It reminds me of the set were Leia gave the message to Artoo.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Right now the look of the PT seems more like 50's B-movie retro deco. rounded and shiney. The OT is more industrial, everything is not meant to be stylish, but useful. They didn't build ships to be pretty, they feel a lot like the 60's and 70's muscle cars, sharp angled and tough.

I don't think the architecture/design of the universe in PT is bad, but really they could use more of a Star Wars look to them. Angel's mockups do that, they keep the rounded look, yet still have that industrial charm that the OT gave us.
