There is a deleted scene where Yoda, Mace and Obi are talking about taking control and putting Palpatine under arrest or something like that.

Now, what about using, I don't know, the scene in the Jedi chamber where Anakin is thinking alone, cut to that deleted scene and cut back to Anakin like if he "saw" them. This could show the powers of Anakin and the audience would see the Jedi through his eyes: like traitors complotting against his friend.

I'd just want more connection between the audience and Anakin.

There is a similar scene in the main movie where Mace is at a briefing holo-table with Yoda and a couple others in holo-form.  Anakin has just left to inform Palpatine that Grievous is destroyed.  The Jedi discuss how Palpatine needs to step down now, and they may have to remove him if he will not do it himself.

Yep, true, the deleted scene would be too similar. In an edit of mine I would try to remove this scene and replace it by my idea (!)

If little Anakin was so important the Jedi could have at least forked out a few credits to move his mother to the capital, especially with him being so concerned about her safety.

Really he should have left Anakin where he was it made no sense at all to take him back to Naboo with him if he was forbidden to train him the Council should have sent him home with enough money to buy his mother out of slavery.

A grateful but untrained possible chosen one would be much less dangerous than a resentful and highly trained one, you don't have to be a Jedi to work that one out.

What were they thinking? We have a loose cannon Jedi and a potentially powerful child who is worrying enough not to train, let's send them into the middle of a war zone and see what happens???????

OBI-WAN: I hope he doesn't try anything foolish.

CAPTAIN TYPHO: I'd be more concerned about her doing
something, than him.

I don't think they were talking about rushing to rescue anyone at this point

Let's not forget the beginning of AOTC, where Anakin prattles on to Obi-Wan about how nervous he is about seeing Padme again, about how being around her is "intoxicating," how he tells her how beautiful she is in front of everyone, etc. etc.   Obi-Wan should have at least had some concern from the beginning.

There is a deleted scene in EP 2 between Mace and Obi Wan where Obi Wan talks of Anakin's "connection" to Padme and how he is distracted by her.  Yes, it wasn't in the movie proper, but the fact that Lucas filmed a scene like that indicates that he was at least thinking about it a little.  Perhaps he cut it for that reason.  At any rate, several faneditors have used that scene to replace the similar one between Mace, Obi, and Yoda, and using the deleted scene does make the Jedi seem a little more to blame.

That depends more on how the faneditor has re-edited the film with the deleted scene and on how Anakin is portrayed throughout EP2. If the editor has changed the story so that Jedi are allowed to love and marry, then that scene would serve more to establish that there is a connection between Anakin/Padme and that the Jedi are confident that Anakin will complete his mission despite such a distraction.

Personally, I think Lucas only used the theatrical "Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Mace" scene because he wanted to re-remind viewers of that stupid "Chosen One" prophecy from the last film... plus he really wanted to show Yoda riding around on a floating toilet. :P

I think there is some truth to that.

Wow... Someone insert a toilet flush to that scene.... BAM! BRILLIANCE!

YODA: Before flush I do... take a look.

MACE: Well I'll be!

OBI-WAN: It appears to look just like Master Ki Adi Mundi's head.

YODA: Mexican food will do this it will.

And yes I know his saber changes in the last shot... Just playing around. It's not 100% done.

how did you do it tell me your SECRET!!!!

but seriously that looks good

green looks good on dooku

infact i remember a long time suggesting that all jedi have blue saber so dooku's green one differs from their's so when we later see luke again with a green lightsaber.....

The problem now is the nature of his dialogue, if he is truly trying to save the galaxy from a Sith Lord he would be trying to justify his Alliance to defuse the situation.

I don't know if some of the exposition from the earlier scene where Obi-Wan has been captured could be moved here so he doesn't seem like he's bitching for a fight.

Constructing a line like "I was not deceiving you, the Republic is under Sith control, The Alliance is the only hope of restoring peace" may not be possible but with the huge number of Christopher Lee films to pull from it might be possible to assemble something similar.

Actually, does anyone have any ideas, or has there been any good fanedits of Anakin's actual turn? I think everyone would agree it's just far too sudden in ROTS, like Palpatine just injected him with Evil Serum when his back was turned.

The best edit of that I've scene so far actually worked because it removed Anakin's overwrought regret - "What have I done?". Without that line alone, it really does sell the whole thing better, and makes it seem less sudden, like he's been building up to it (which he had)

There's probably not a great deal else that can be done, but for me that simple edit alone made a massive difference. The regret line was completely antiproductive to Anakin's fall.

Any self-respecting faneditor removes that "what have I done" line, and most of them have done just that (if I recall correctly).  Just another reminder, follow the link in my sig to see exactly what was done by each editor.

I did it in AE, and it took lots and lots of time.... Well worth it though.  The green looks good to me.

Well, honestly we know why their fighting, the rest is just trash talk. The chatter in the fight could be cut and that should do it.

I loathe that line. He just went darkside and then he whines. :/

Yes it's a dreadful line, it completely undermines the direction his character is supposed to be going in.

I like Mannequin Skywalker, seems so appropriate for Hayden Christensen.
