When we were lads my brother and I played a lot of Star Wars, including crafting our own "EU" sequals.
Recently, in my dad's garage, I found drawings, notes and several unfinished "comic books" of our own Star Wars coninutation entitled "Star Wars Future" (not a great title, but we were probably 8 and 10 at the time, maybe the summer of 1988 or 1989.).
The setting was about six years after ROTJ. Luke couldn't find a lot of good potential Jedi (the way we saw it, they would be pretty rare if he was the only one that came along in 20 years) so he settles on "meh" Jedi. Our heroes, two young Jedi (teens-early 20s) who don't really get along and their crew are on some sort of mission when they crashland on a jungle planet (partly inspired by one of the Robotech shows I think) and do battle with an ill-defined army of leftover Storm-Troopers and evil robots (largely inspired by the old "Captain Power" adventure show). Adventures follow as the heroes try to get off the planet, foil schemes, and occasionally search for treasure.
THE CAST:
- Vance: Young Jedi, was originally a street kid, too sneaky and angry to be a really great Jedi.Had two lightsabers.
- Luther: Young Jedi. Rich kid. Good at heart but too arrogant to be a really great Jedi. Wore a cape and a headband.
- Lockheed (named after airplane plant): Generic Han Solo knockoff. They all lived in his crashed ship called "The Intruder." Had a mustache.
- DX-D5 (might be DT-D5, my childish handwriting is atrocious): Small chatty maintainence robot. A cheery talking R2.
- T88E "Double Eight": Large mute silver labor droid. A cross between R2 and Chewie,
- Baron Gavalon, aka Dark Blade: The main villain. Basicaly a red Darth Vader. Why he has this army and what his goals are were never explained (or figured out by the creators).
