Babyhum,

Are you going to start releasing more of your TV stuff from that era now? To be honest, I'd love to be able to see more of that rare stuff than the Japanese laserdiscs because we already have versions of those floating around.

The versions that are floating around are my 'version 1' transfers. I wasn't 100% happy with them so I'm re-transfering them (I'm starting to act like GL, i know).

As far as other stuff from that era I'll revisit it after some Episode I & II stuff and the Japanese documentaries.

I hope you've all got those TiVo's set for tonight

It's on my Tive and I'll start to transfer it to my PC in just a few minutes........ (TiVo2Go RULES!!!!!)

So, should I just encode the segment or the whole thing?

I'd appreciate a copy of the whole show (if it doesn't affect the quality).

For you BH - Consider it DONE - No ads though right?

I also have this....

60 Minutes featuring George Lucas - 1999[/]

As Episode I: The Phantom Menace neared completion and raced toward its May 19th release date, 60 Minutes took a look at what occupied Mr. Lucas' mind during the final stages of post-production on his latest journey to the heart of the Star Wars universe.

This was from another member that sent me a bunch of OLD VHS stuff transfered to DVD - (THANKS T.P. )

I was wondering, how does one go about finding the DVDs on eMule or eDonkey? I have bh001 and bh002 from MySpleen, but am looking for bh003. Is there a guide somewhere similar to the one for the newsgroups?

Also, has anyone developed any covers for these releases? I know someone asked Babyhum about them earlier, but I didn't know if anything had happened since that post was made.

Thanks!

BH003 will be coming to the torrents soon - I'm one person with only so much time and bandwidth (I need a sparti camber )

Sorry if it seemed like I was complaining - I didn't mean to give that impression! I appreciate everything you've hooked us up with. I'd say especially the Holiday Special, or the Babyhum releases, or the Droids, or the other supplements and programs, not to mention the movies, but I'd have to say especially all of it (hmm, like I just did, very incoherently.)

And great news about bh003 - that one looks like a really interesting program from my viewpoint.

Anyway, yeah, thanks!

I just wanted to give a hearty "thank you" to babyhum (and to all the others here) from the Star Wars Cut Scenes community... artifacts like these making-of specials are invaluable to our research. I have bh001 and bh002 now, and in addition to my being very impressed with the transfer, I've found that bh001 especially contained some incredible cut footage involving the unseen Rebel gunner sled.

babyhum, I'd like to get in touch with you directly to talk about future projects and possible collaborations. If you can't reach me from here, you can find me in the Contact section at:

Sounds totally excellent. Now I don't have to bother getting my VHS of this remastered! Thanks!

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I've just gotten the first two babyhum releases, with many thanks to Russ Dawson, and they are truly great ... excellent quality, excellent transfers of excellent rarely-seen specials. The Horizon special is the most informative special about things like 80s chromakey processes I've seen! And I've seen far too many ....

I'm looking forward to your new transfers of the making of specials from the laserdiscs ... very much so ... but I have a question ... being that the Japanese laserdiscs are in NTSC, and you're usually working in PAL, will you have to convert to PAL at some point, thus screwing up the picture quality and the transfers?

Just wondering what your process will be here ....

I always work in the system of the source material. My DVD recorder will record both NTSC and PAL. I never do cross conversions. bh004 was recorded from a PAL transmission. The original programme was NTSC format so any conversion was done by the production company or broadcaster.

bh005: The A To Z Of Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones

Author: babyhum
Video Format: MPEG2/704x576/16x9/PAL/Av.Bitrate 8057kbps
Audio Format: Dolby Digital 2.0 256kbps
Source: 2002 DV recording from digital satellite transmission
Duration: 23m 06s
Size: 1.40GB
Artwork: No

Source equipment: Sony DCR-PC110E-PAL, Panasonic TU-DSB31 Sky Digibox
Capture equipment: Panasonic DMR-E100H HDD/DVD Recorder

Description:

Transmitted on the ITV network in the UK on May 25th 2002, "The A To Z Of Star Wars: Episode II" was a 25 minute programme consisting of EPK interviews with the cast, documentary footage and scenes from the film edited to form an alphabetic look at the movie (A is for Anakin, B is for bluescreen etc.). I originally posted this footage in 24 parts on theforce.net in VCD format, and also sent some early DVD copies out to a chosen few. When originally recorded onto DV, the image was anamorphic but it had a 4x3 pixel aspect ratio. I have now fixed the aspect ratio and this version is a proper 16x9 transfer (thanks to Adobe Premiere).
Note: The original programme features source material of varying qualities.

Yes - it can be done BUT you will COULD video quality - I suggest getting a player that can play both PAL and NTSC - You can find them as low as $35 at Wal-Mart OR get the Philips DVP642 - It's $70 but it will PLAY evreything you throw at it - DivX, Xvid, VCD, XSVCD, MPEG2 VOB's and PAL or NTSC on the fly! NO buttons to push or anything.
