Description: (From vh1.com)
Few movies have reached the iconic status of the original Star Wars trilogy. A long-shot science fiction project that was rejected by multiple Hollywood studios, Star Wars (and its creator George Lucas) defied the skeptics and became one of the biggest pop culture phenomena of all time. Now VH1 is working with Lucasfilm to produce the ultimate oral history of the Star Wars years, When Star Wars Ruled the World. Timed to coincide with the DVD release of the original trilogy on September 21, 2004, this hour-long documentary will take viewers back to those rapturous moments when the whole world wanted to wield a light saber.

The show begins in the mid-1970s as George Lucas struggles to find a way to make his dream project a reality. Relive the incredible and unlikely impact of the first Star Wars movie, the sudden fame of unknowns like Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher, and the way fans around the world fell in love, first with the movie and then with the action figures, pillow cases, C-3PO cereal and everything else they could - and did - line up to buy. Manufacturers could hardly keep up with the demand for anything and everything Star Wars (swamped by clamoring fans, the official Star Wars toymaker, Kenner, at one point had to settle for selling vouchers for yet-to-be-made action figures.)

The show will also chronicle the immense anticipation for the first Star Wars sequel, The Empire Strikes Back and the build-up to the climactic Return of the Jedi that had fans traveling hundreds of miles to visit the gates of the movie's set. Along the way, we will highlight the cultural impression made on millions of fans by Star Wars icons like Darth Vader, Ewoks, and Yoda, and lines like "I am your father," "That's no moon. It's a space station," and, "May the force be with you."

What's with the 'Star Wars Something' (as seen on the bh006 cover and menu)?

Ooh, a laserdisc. The Cheat's playin' something on a laserdisc.
Everything is better on a laserdisc. Whatever happened to the laserdisc? Laserdisc!

That's the way the title appears in the program. VH-1 actually has a When _________ Ruled The World series. The title spoofs the old Mad-Libs from the 70's. It was a fill in the blanks game where you were asked for things like names, nouns, verbs, places, etc, without any knowledge as to why. Your answers were placed into a pre-written story with often hilarious results.

Mr. Hum, Good job on keeping the underlined something. Your cover looks great. I did one based on the VH1 web site, and the underline was a prominent feature. I can't wait to see the disc itself.

Yes I know. 3 re-releases in a week. What's going on?
Two reasons.
1. I want to start on something new. The discs i did for DigitalFreakNYC's Indiana Jones releases were a welcome change. I'm looking forward to bh009 and onwards.
2. I'm going away again so you won't see anything new for a while (maybe a week or two).

Metallaxis will have releases 5-7 by this weekend so expect them on myspleen soon. klokwerk and segaflip will be getting the next batch (5 to 8) as soon as 8 is done. Then all you usenet users and Antipodeans will be happy.

Keep the comments and criticisms coming. I do enjoy reading them!

Oh and if anybody is printing out the covers and disc art could they let me know how it looks. Especially when they are stacked up next to each other!

Enjoy!

Baby Hum,

is it safe to assume that any of the new postings are the final versions? I thought at one point you said that the re-released bh001 had a new version. Reason i ask is cause if there is i wont bother burning this version. but if all the ones with menus that have been distributed so far are the final (i use that term somewhat loosly, current final is probably better) versions then i will burn the iso's i have on my hd to disc, otherwise ill wait.

The re-releases are happening chronologically from bh001. They are all NEW including the above release of bh007. It has been reauthored and includes more extras. Hope this helps.

Baby Hum and Metallaxis, thanks for releasing and torrenting all of these great releases. And Baby Hum, the move to a video_ts folder instead of an iso image was greeeattt!! This way I do not have to download everyhting onto a NTFS partition as well as that I can only download what I need ie the cover and label files. Looking forward to future releases of bh007, bh008 ......

The AotC premiere clips are wonderful, George's "It's a coincidence" answer really is telling of his character.

Babyhum:
I just wanted to know if it was possible to get a PSD template of your cover. I'd like to make 2 covers for 4-discs each. You know, for the single amaray cases that hold 4 discs. One cover for Babyhum 1 - 4 & the other to house 5 - 8. Or if you're not busy, perhaps you could have a crack at it? I'm just trying to save some space until I can afford another storage unit. Thanks in advance.
