The OT era is apparently the dumb era

Han Solo has said that he has never seen or heard of the force, which means he doesn’t know what a Jedi is. In fact George said that the midichlorians idea came to show how uneducated the OT era is. Thought’s?

I feel like I’ve been scammed.

The PT era is the era where a Sith Lord tricks the whole senate and the Jedi council.
The PT era is the era where shape shifting assassins don’t use their unique ability for their advantage.
The PT era is the era where “I don’t like sand” and “I want to establish a dictatorship” are acceptable pick-up lines.
The PT era is the era where mothers die in childbirth.
The PT era is the era where a Jedi’s weapon is his life.
The PT era is the era where Yoda fights with a lightsaber and leads a war.

Sounds pretty dumb to me.

Sounds like a good, interesting, and scary era to me, really reflects history. Unfortunately the OT era is still dumb but I still love it.

What is good and interesting and scary about numbers 2 and 3 and how do they reflect history?

I though the worst pick up line was “I love you”, “I know”.

The most frightening thing about episodes 2 and 3 was how slow the clock was moving while I was sitting in the theatre.

Oh god, yet another PT fanboy set out to troll the “purists”. The sooner Jay gets the ignore feature reinstated, the better

I’m not trolling, and a purist is someone that stay’s loyal to George Lucas, ignore if you like, but you’ll never learn anything if you do. I do love the OT

The OT movies are amazing and full of hope, but I still couldn’t take them seriously.

Anyone else get a whiff of a sock?

Yes.

The PT is where Padme has an assassin after her and it turns out she’s the main person trying to negate the Military Creation Act which Palpatine is trying to push yet no one makes that connection. Then the Jedi use a Clone Army that they know were created under suspicious circumstances just to save 3 people. And the order for that Clone Army was 10 years ago…right around the time that Palpatine became the Chancellor and no one connects that dot too. And people in the OT are supposed to be dumb?

What’s even being said here? That, in-universe, the OT era saw censorship and hushing of knowledge? Or that the era seems dumb to you as a viewer?

The “dark times” pushed free thought underground, and burned space books about the Jedi.
But it is the backdrop of one of the greatest set of films ever made.

Also, whether you mean to or not, and you probably do, you come across as baiting.

EDIT: This was the first thread I opened today. Yeah, you know what you’re doing.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

Not really this was supposed to discuss what George Lucas meant which you should know already.
