You know there were people just like you insulting people who dug the classic trilogy as well? People were saying those films were just a technical showcase for his motion control cameras and other cutting edge effects he employed.

When it comes to the taste of the masses, I know what you mean. I can't even watch TV or listen to the radio anymore (except for My Name is Earl, that show is solid). Aside from the Star Wars films and the latest Pirates of the Carribean movie, I don't go to theaters at all.

Anyway, I didn't give much merit to the people who told me these things about the classic trilogy and I can't see why I should give any more merit to your cynical and dismissive take on the prequels.

Yep, that analogy is completely sensible. It makes perfect sense. Kudos and thumbs up Gomer, you're one Hell of a thinker. I.... uh.... am just like those people because they.... uh.... didn't like the Original Trilogy.... and today... uh.... I don't like the Prequels.... so, um, because they uh, they're exactly the same just in different time periods and I'm just like those people because I must just hate the "here and now," and we're all a bunch of dummies that hate all that is good and new and shiny. Everyone in government and bad today is Hitler because he was a bad government figure of the past. There is not spoon, did that cat just walk by twice Gomer? Was it the same cat? I challenge you to a Rod Race. Pod Racing is soooo cool Gomer. My other Pod Racer is a Jar Jar!

The prequels were bad movies, you like them because you have poor taste. My opinion lords over yours because, quite frankly, I'm smarter than you Gomer. A better mover and shaker as well, a real dancer, a real trouble maker. A fire starter.

The prequels were silly turds.

Why waste life on Gomer. The guy's been sucking on Lucas' chins for a loooooong time and just wants to come here and stir shit up. Just forget the PT exists and you'll be fine. It is what it is, George Lucas' poorly written Fx tests. He even had Anakin fighting Greedo in Phantom menace in a deleted scene. that's the kind of thought process that went into the making of this trilogy. The man has changed and doesn't take this shit seriously anymore. so why should I take those films seriously. *shrugs*

I understand you guys have all been through this all before at length, but I am still suprised to see how many of you have such a closed mind on this matter.

Even if you tried seeing the good in them before, it looks like most of you have already finished considering the possibility.

Guys, I think it was pretty big of Tiptup to start this thread up for the purpose of giving me a place where I could really talk about the things I enjoyed about the prequels and SE versions of the classic trilogy.

It would be really disappointing if it just ended in a pointless flame war.

This whole idea of "bashers" vs "gushers" is really self defeating.

We are all individuals here and we all have our own unique points of views to offer.

Obviousy people not liking a movie doesn't always equate to a total lack of consideration on their part, and obvioulsy people liking a movie doesn't always equate to a total lack of consideration on their part.

Pretending taste is quantifyable just shows how much one has to learn about life.
