The Mask (1994) - 4K Filmized Remaster — Page 2

“The Mask” is my favorite Jim Carrey movie, and quite frankly I’m surprised it hasn’t been officially released on 4K. I hope someone offers it soon, official or not. This film deserves so much better treatment on home video than its been given, across the board.

Well, your surprise might be supported by many other titles, such as:

Se7en (announced and allegedly scanned in 8K, but beware of also Fincher’s remastering fetishes so who knows if it will really be any better than what we already have. I highly doubt it)

The Game (two Blu-rays available, but either with a dated master or ugly orange & teal color grading)

American Beauty (the Blu-ray also is rather mediocre)

Panic Room (not even an official Blu-ray release, just some bootleg and HDTV/Web-DL rips floating around)

8mm (even the BD-release took ages)

Girl with a pearl earring

The list is long, actually …

Sourced from the BLU-RAY MASTER?!? Now that’s something I have to see! Please include a few clips of the before/after process as well - would be a real treat to see the progress. 😄

These may be of some use below… please note that cluttering up the project threads with ‘link request’ posts is poor form and technically against the rules & guidelines here - the reasons for which can be found below…

❕ I have found a Fan Edit / Preservation I am interested in - but I don’t know how to get / acquire / download it? ❕

i want a fanedit that includes all deleted scenes escept peggy death because i don´t like that the mask fanedit extended director´s cut inserted that scene i don´t consider her death canon because i prefer peggy surviving and her death is not official canon besides not being canon to me and chuck russel wanted peggy in the sequel and i hope that still happens if a sequel to the first movie with jim still happens and the people that say her being alive in the cartoon is a contratiction are wrong its not a contratiction because her deleted scene isn´t canon and chuck wanted her in the sequel that is why she is in the cartoon and if chuck russel sequel was gonna be canon if it did happened than peggy being alive in the cartoon should also be accepted as canon and i hope chuck russel is gonna return as the director in a sequel to the first movie with jim because with him i have more chances in seeing peggy in the sequel with amy yasbeck reprising her role
