The Marvel Cinematic Universe — Page 26

Never heard about that comics (which isn’t surprising - I never heard about 90% of the comics their movies ans TV shows are based on). Is it a part of the MCU or something different?

They haven’t really said one way or the other yet. I suspect it’ll be a part of the MCU seeing as it’s live action.

This seems to be Marvel’s answer to DC’s very successful stable of young adult targeted programming on the CW. Will be interesting to see if it turns out well and finds an audience.

One show is announced that might not be good and they’ve “let themselves go”? C’mon, Civil War and Doctor Strange are shaping up to be great.

No, no, they just haven’t had many good films. That show was the last straw.

Their films are meh at worst. I can forgive the boring Thor movies and dumb Iron Man sequels because of the Captain America movies alone, which are fantastic. Plus: the Netflix corner of the MCU exists! Which has produced nothing but incredible content so far.

That’s just crazy talk.

Well, they had Iron Man, The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Winter Soldier and Guardians. 5 out of 12 equals not many good films.

Totally underselling Ant-man, that was great. There’s something to be said for Thor and First Avenger. AND you’ve completely neglected AOS, Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

Ant-Man was mediocre at best. And I have seen AOS and Daredevil, while Daredevil was great from the get go, I never bothered watching AOS after the first couple of episodes. I’ve heard it got better from there, but if a show doesn’t hook me in, generaly I don’t bother with the rest. Also, First Avenger was bleh, and Thor was bad.

Really? I mean of course none of the movies is “high art”, but “mediocre”, “bleh” or “bad”? I can’t agree, all of the movies were IMHO quite enjoyable, even when each of the movies had problems.

Agants of SHIELD indeed got better. The first episodes were pretty boring, but after they found out they’re working for HYDRA it got much better. I can recommend giving it another try if you will have some free time in the future

I want to keep watching, but it’s not my highest priority at the moment. And yes, Ant-Man was mediocre, First Avenger was bleh, and there were more bad things in Thor than good.

Cloak, if memory serves, is an important character for the Infinity War storyline and I can’t see the characters working as standalone films.
I’m surprised Adam Warlock hasn’t turned up yet (besides the Cocoon in Guardian of the Galaxy) I do hope he is handled well. I loved those strips as a child.
I think Marvel is doing really well.
The big movies always have something entertaining going on Agents of Shield kind of peaked in season 2 but it’s certainly better than season 1.
Agent Carter is fun. Daredevil and Jessica Jones are some of the best television I’ve seen in a long while.
I really enjoy the DC telly universe too (less serious but frothy fun) but so far the films have been awful.

If anything else, it’ll be a visual treat, judging by the trailer.

Doctor Strange looks amazing. Still don’t much care for Benedict Cumberbatch as Strange. I like him in Sherlock, I don’t really know why I didn’t want him as Strange, something about it just feels off somehow. Anyway, I’m sure he’ll do a good job, and this movie will be great visually.

I’m glad the new Spider-Man logo seems to take inspiration from comic books rather than Playstation logos.

Christopher Lee would’ve been a perfect Dr. Strange back in the back. Alas …

I could give a shit about Dr Strange or any of the films; I just need S3 of Daredevil…
