I thought Luke and everyone else was taking him too seriously, almost like he was a religious figure.

Then, I remembered… “hypocris, hubris.” Makes sense if this is the sort of thing Island Luke would look back on with derision.

A criticism that I see which I think is very valid is the fact that Mando is immune to any real danger thanks to his Beskar armour, making him affectively invincible. This was really highlighted when he was attacked by Gideon. If even a lightsaber can’t make a scratch, then where’s the danger? Why should the audience be worried. It’s like the Superman conundrum in story telling.

The only solution would be to strip him of his armour in season 3.

Or do the opposite… Give Gideon a suit of Beskar armour!

I would imagine that he has already incorporated it into his armour, But that’s a good suggestion nonetheless.

Beskar being a lightsaber-resistant metal raises the possibility of beskar swords. Or even other things, like staves, or maces…

So I know this latest episode has had some mixed reception, but can we at least agree that it was the best Mulan movie to come out of 2020?

Looks like book of Boba Fett will be more like Mandalorian season 2.5. (according to John Favreau)

This is what I have been waiting for thank you for sharing! Shamooks deepfakes look the best IMO. Maybe it’s just deepfacelab. Haven’t watched yet but I’m assuming it will still look a bit off due to luke’s creamy movements bodily and facially.

Ok this made my day. Not only did his facial structure look way more spot on, his mannerisms in the way he moves his face look AMAZING. Young mark Hamill as Luke is a face and character that everyone is so familiar with that this has to be just right to not be disturbing. Shamook nailed this one.

Yeah I agree. The only proplem is that he looks too much like his ROTJ self, intead of 5 years older.

But then again that’s what the creative intent was anyways. It felt to me like that’s what they were going for.

A definite improvement. The only time it still looks noticeably fake is when Luke’s eyebrows move while he says “he won’t be safe until he masters his abilities.” But the stills themselves look incredibly convincing, which is more than I can say for the way it appears in the episode.

Wish Shamook were on this forum. He could do so much for the fanedit world.

So according to Jon, Mark Hammill was physically on set playing Luke for the walk in and face reveal. He must’ve gotten in pretty shape!

Although he did look kinda stiff when got down to lift Grogu.

As far as I knew the in-flesh actor was actually Max Lloyd-Jones. Mark Hamill must have also done a performance for when his face is revealed, and then they pasted that onto Max and deaged it.

Can’t wait for the behind the scenes footage!
