I mean, he was mortally wounded and nearing death. He has few options in that moment. Kill Droid and also die, which also means the Child dies. Or, trust the trust the non-living droid to nurse his wound, therefore also increasing the likelihood of the Child surviving. Coming back from near death is an easy to change someone’s mind/perspective.

That droid just did a lot to protect the child. That says a lot to Mando.

I think the next season is going to have to do some light-to-heavy lifting on educating its characters (and by extension, its audience) on how understandably-yet-weirdly misinformed they are about the larger galaxy. I think it’s great that these people are mystified and bewildered about the larger truths of the universe they occupy. Yoda’s species (and Jedi in general) are considered an “Enemy sorcerers,” the Mandalorians themselves operate under a code that obviously wasn’t being observed by the larger Mandalorian people as little as a decade prior to this show’s beginning.

The Darksaber’s presence hints that those discoveries are coming, and I think the one-two reality-shaking revelations for Din and co. are going to provide a lot of dramatic opportunities I hope the creators are up to the task of exploring. It’s a really cool hook they’ve provided, because it puts the audience members one up on the characters they’re watching, and that can make for some very satisfying storytelling depending on how they ratchet up the tension in those revelations coming to fruition.

^ you beat me to that post Tobar ! Ever since reading that novel and the original Marvel series , I wanted to see an army of Mandalorians in live action . I was hoping we would see that in the prequels long before they came out and am guessing many fans did too .

We already had seen his face. Admittedly he was a bit young, but technically the reveal happened very early in the series.

Ep. 8 was probably my least favorite. The effects were a bit cheesy in spots, and the dialogue was forced sometimes. But this was a wonderful series, and I’ll probably go back and re-watch them all.

George coulda’ planned for Luke n’ Leia to be brother n’ sister from the beginning & it would still make the galaxy smaller.
I don’t totally disagree with you, but Boba Fett the mystery man is much more interesting than him being part of a group who all act & dress up the same. The more we know, the less interesting he becomes.
But that’s a whole other topic.

I’m still excited to sit down n’ watch this thing!

Some interesting facts about history of Mandalorians. I do not read many EU books so this was quite useful and had much new information.

Happy New Year. Just saw the first 4 episodes at my friend’s place. Overall I thought it was good, but not great. Some random thoughts:

1. Mandalorians are better as villains, rather then heroes.
2. Yes, Baby Yoda is very cute.
3. So far, the IG robot was the best thing about the series. Too bad he was destroyed.
4. Really liked Carl Weathers character in this
5. Does have a good Star Wars feel
6. Episode 4 was MUCH weaker compared to the prior episodes. Did not like the soldier girl.
7. Do NOT like the fact that Baby Yoda can instinctively use The Force
8. The Egg! The Egg! The Egg!
9. The Clone Wars series is strong in this one (in terms of ideas, tone, quality).
10. If I never see another episode…I’ll live.
11. If Favreau and Filoni were put in charge of the ST the world would be a much better place.
12. Super Battle Droids are shown as menacing. Well done.

I really liked that Goransson never went to the Williams scores. I thought for sure he might have been saving a motif (probably the Force theme) for the final episode for maximum impact, but he never did. And I think that’s great.
