Or maybe if one gets banned for something one said years ago, one should try contacting the mods and politely expressing contrition for one’s past mistakes and asking to be reinstated instead of creating new accounts to circumvent the ban in flagrant violation of the site’s rules multiple times.

Making good content doesn’t excuse repeatedly violating the rules. This isn’t the first time a talented creative that’s contributed to the community has been permanently banned from the site for breaking the rules. Adywan and Harmy would (and should) get the same treatment if they behaved the same way and they’re practically deified by the community.

It sounds like if that were the long and short of it we’d be able to. But he’s persistently broken the rules throughout with socks. It’s too bad, but I don’t see a path forward without a change in behavior first.

I also suspected it was him, between a similar round avatar, same site links and even working on the exact same fanedits! I just regret not saying anything sooner- I loved his edits so much, and I didn’t understand why he had been banned. But wow, knowing the context, that is pretty awful. Yes, he is a talented fan editor, but that sort of comment is just totally inappropriate and uncalled for. Maybe he has changed since then, idk, but his behavior here to this day is still so imature. Its such a shame, I really did enjoy his edits, but until he apologizes for his homophobic comments, I can’t support him anymore. :’(

I actually planned on making a sock account, since I have never been very active here and sort of wanted a fresh start when I actually start editing, (then again, i’m not a adult, sooooo…) but I’m not going to do that after all after stuff like this, sock accounts are just a bad idea. If Force Ghost Recon has actually apologized, instead of hiding behind new names, it would be a different story, and I say this as a LGBTQ person. But i have lost all respect for him. Yikes.

There are a ton of talented banned members I and I think a lot of the community miss, the best example that comes to mind is Frink. But specifically in FGR’s case though, that action can not be tolerated, if it was it would create a hostile environment for LGBT faneditors, which is not something we need.

Frankly, it started off as an off-color comment, but as that thread kept going it became clear it wasn’t just that. Plus, it’s clear there’s stuff going on in PMs that they’re not showing us either out of respect for FGR, or out of a desire not to air dirty laundry. We definitely know FGR doubled down on what he did. Like what JKMaxx said, if he owned up to what he did or at the very least didn’t pull all this shit, then it would be a different story. Maybe he wouldn’t be banned. But he’s denying his actions, making sock accounts, trashing the mods who never did anything wrong all the while falsely accusing them of doing the same to him, and so I don’t really think I’ll be shedding any tears for him.
