Hello all 😃

I run a Disney Spot called Walt Disney Characters @ Fanpop.com and I have a made a Forum Topic about the different releases for The Little Mermaid. You can see it here:

PrueFever, that’s an impressive collection of comparisons. You put in quite a bit of work and it’s a handy resource for how the releases have morphed and changed. Thank you!

Actually it has been available to those who were involved for almost a year now, but I can’t put a release on sites like the spleen for certain reasons. Some people know the reasons and I guess they agree it makes sense to limit the release. It’s for the same reason why “Mulan” needed to be limited and probably “The Lion King” as well.

I’m really sorry and I don’t want to draw to much attention to the exact reason, so I can’t explain it here. But I guess those who know it will agree that the limitation makes sense and maybe another print will turn up some day which can also be released for everyone then.

How can we jump on the list to get the releases? Would funding a future project help in that regard? Needless to say, your wish to not release it publicly would be respected.

Since there have been several requests now I have to tell you that right now I’m not taking further donations since all the projects are fully funded and I don’t just want to take money without a certain purpose to use it right now.

That might not be what you wanted to hear, but as mentioned before I can’t just release these scans for everyone for certain reasons. But keep your eyes open for further projects. If there’s another one coming up of course you can also get access to the previous titles as well. And maybe I’ll also find a way which makes it possible to give the existing ones a wider release as well someday.

If you find a 70mm print of The Little Mermaid, that will make a good side preservation.

I love to hear the original 6 track mix with rich bass, high dynamic range and powerful stereo separation.😊😉😊😉

I would be happy to contribute to ANY future Disney preservation projects. Been here since 2003 but away recently. Preserving these films properly is essential in my opinion. Disney has been one of (if not THE) worst at truly preserving their titles in their original form.

Additionally, if there is ANY way to get hold of this, I would greatly appreciate it. Of all the Disney “renaissance” this one holds a particular sentimental value to me.

Thanks so much for reading.
