The Internet Acronym/Abbreviation Thread in Which We Ask About Internet Acronyms and Have Our Questions Answered by Other People

Rather than going through all the effort of Googling abbreviations and acronyms that have been puzzling you, ask them here and have them answered by TV's Frink and other people.

So, to start us off in this almost entirely useless thread, what the heck does QFT mean?

I like how this thread is perfect for Ric Olie, as it gives itself an obvious name (The Internet Acronym/Abbreviation Thread) and then supplies an obvious definition.  Great Captain Obvious skills!  I also like how every Ric Olie 2 post is a shout out to TV's Frink.

^ I am pretty damn good at guessing acronyms if I do say so my damn self, but I only got the first three letters on that one.

Also... J'accuse! Ric Olie 2 started this thread to bump the "Save Ric" thread to the second page! Assassin!

Ah, thank you. I've discerned the meaning* of IMO and TL;DR as well as some others on my own, but there are some that I just can't figure out.

Does anyone else think "ROFLMAO" sounds like the noise a cat would make coughing up hairballs?

Only if you read it as a word. I usually read acronyms as individual letters, unless they spell a word or something similar.

 Perhaps I was too subtle, but I created that thread in response to both of the Ric Olie 2 threads asking for votes as a successor.

On an almost completely unrelated note, I wish there was an emoticon with its tongue sticking out and a smiley face at the same time.

Maybe a character like that exists in one of the non-Roman writing systems.
