I use Bitcomet (http://www.bitcomet.com), so I'll explain from that.
In Bitcomet, go to File/Create Torrent. Choose if you want to seed a single file or a whole folder, and then browse for that file/folder. If you wanna upload your file to The Pirate Bay, use the tracker server http://tracker.prq.to/announce. Then you simply go here: http://thepiratebay.org/upload.php, follow the instructions and upload the .torrent file that Bitcomet created for you. You have to be registered to upload it to The Pirate Bay, but that's a pretty quick process.

I wish you could just wait until the project is over since thats what I am putting my time into.

Can you just wait since thats the whole point of my project and people have contributed to the project?

Instead of just etc movies thats the whole point of this project is to combine it with menus.

People can't be stopped from uploading their own versions of things. I believe due to this thread we will see individual Indy docs and making ofs finding their way to torrent sites.

However, I reckon the compilation DVD project should still be continued, as a means for the people who use bittorrent that can;t download hundreds of gigabytes of stuff - whether that be due to download limits or speed restrictions, or whatever else. Also, some people might just prefer having all of them without having to go to the trouble of downloading them separately.

So, it should be simple. This project should continue, but others should upload any HQ rips of things that they have if they want to.

Well I understand I cant actually control his decision but it would have been nice to start fresh and release everything as a full dvd set rather than etc clips and movies.

But its really dissapointing that he/you wont just contribute to this project since you will get full credit for all of the content you contribute.

I still would love to continue this DVD project but I will have to tell you its still going to be some gigabytes, not hundreds but will make it as small as possible without deteriating the quality.

My ultimate goal of this project is that I can still down at the end of the day, pop in one of the DVDs to this project and enjoy this ultimate holy grail of Indiana Jones goodness.

That is one of the reasons I chose to add parodies since I am thinking this can be like the final resolution to our Indiana Jones collection.

So mostly this will be the only Indiana Jones DVD set you will ever need to download. So even if its big in size at the end, it will be well worth downloading since it you wont ever have to download another set again.

What does everyone think?

What I was trying to get at was; I'd be downloading this set. Yes of course, even if it's a DVD or 2-disc DVD set, the quality will be lowered a little. BUt I'd rather download this project's DVD and sit down and watch everything, like you said Indy3. Then, if there's a doco I really enjoyed or something then I might go to the trouble of getting that in a single upload that somebody makes if the quality is significantly higher.

One more point; you mentioned a website that would support/promote this project (sorry can't think of the name right now ). The thing is, most of us here are knowledgeable with torrents and have downloaded multiple versions of the Star Wars OOT. But, to get this project to a wider audience, it would have to be a single DVD-R or 2-disc set, because, let's face it, the Indy fan-type newbies to torrents who hear about these docos, making ofs, would be better off downloading a single DVD (or two), because many people won't want to have to download 7 or 8 DVDs with one doc per disc.

My sentences have become very long, so here's my summary statement: I think many people (especially those who will eventually become aware of this via that site or others) would appreciate if we had the option of downloading this disc/set or if we're quality freaks, to go and download everything separately.

And on the parodies, I see why you're adding them, but if they will take up too much space, and force you to reduce the quality on the other, more important parts of the project, then I think that you should only include the funniest ones (that we all know), or the rarest ones. So, just a handful of funny/rare parodies, rather than attempting to collect all of them (though someone may attempt a "Indiana Jones: The Parodies DVD" project one day ).

Looking forward to this, so keep working on it!

Yeah of course, I understand and will do what deleted magic did like uploading clips and different parts of the set.

Until I recieve the docs which should be soon, I will have a better estimate for you guys to how many DVD's this will be.

I have friends in the industry that will help me compress it but without quality change like how they do it for retail DVDs.
There are only three parodies so far, MITM/Muppets/Simpsons, thats enough I think. They are short, like a minute a piece.

You've misinterpreted his post. He was saying a DVD with several docos, etc, would be lower quality than each doco alone on a disc. Nothing to do with physical delivery method.

Gillean is correct about what I was trying to get at. But enough about quality, let's have a recap of what material will be included on this set. Like, which docs/features, etc. I think those 3 parodies are enough. They're good ones too.

Plus, most of us probably have it already.

The Diet Coke Commercial - was included at the beginning of the Last Crusade VHS release (both the single and box set versions from 1990).

I also recieveing an old young indiana jones commericail.

And of course the Malcolm In The Middle/Simpsons/Muppet Babies parodies.

The Raiders special could possibly be the TV special that was done on MTV in 1989 with Harrison Ford. It was used to promote Last Crusade but he mostly goes through all of his movies and gives a candid review of each of them. It's also the only place he's ever said anything remotely positive about Blade Runner. Other than that, I don't know what you mean about the Raider DVD special. As far as I know, there is no such thing.

Again, I'm still working on making menus and stuff...but I just remembered other things I have as well...including Today show specials, the Premiere Magazine behind the scenes, a Siskel & Ebert special on the making of all of them, a showtime special on Last Crusade...and hours of other Indy stuff.

Indy, it sounds like I have all the stuff you're getting plus tons more. If you would be interested in making the menus, I would send you the material which might be a better way of handling this whole thing. But you'd have to leave it as I give it to you. I"m a stickler for quality and I'm confident my stuff is the best quality you're going to come across.

Thats the goal to make it the ultimate dvd set really.

I have an extreme amount of power to upload this project so it will be extremly easier for everyone to download this.

Not a chance. You either release the discs as I give them to you, just making the menus for each one or no deal.

My only problem is not having the know-how to create nice looking menus. I'd rather release them without at this point than contribute to this project. And I want them be separate releases as they deserve to be. That's what I'll be doing if you don't agree.

So what your saying is that I couldnt release anything other than your movies, and they couldnt be one entire set but seperate torrents?

I'd really love to work with you and have your cooporation on this project but ease up a little, I dont know why everythign has to be so strict with this release anyway, its all in good fun and for the fans.

I dont want to argue with you or anything really but loosen up, we are not going to get any money out of this, this is purely for the fans.

Yes it is purely for the fans and that's why I want to do it right. I want there to be one release that's as close to perfect as possible. This isn't like a "movie" so i don't know why you keep calling it that. There won't be different edits of these. They are documentaries, pure and simple. Download them one at a time because you're not going to get more than one on a disc unless it's dual layered. If that's your plan, you're going to compromise quality and that's not something I'm willing to do.

So it's either do it your way and do it with lesser quality and have them on fewer discs in one torrent...or do it my way and have it the best quality possible and have each release on it's own disc...much like Babyhum's releases. He's doing that perfectly and I don't understand why we can't do the same.

Well, this way works too.

So the plan now, is to switch these to a "Babyhum" style release system? DigitalFreakNYC contributes the docs and Indy3 uploads them? Or does Indy3 need to make each file into a DVD? I don't understand if they're already separate discs, in DVD format or not.

klokwerk, it seems that he wants no quality difference than the original and thats what I am going to do.
