In all fairness, Threepio and Artoo pimped for Burger King and Kenner back in the day.

I did groan at the Vader vs. Energizer bunny ad though.

Sigh. I miss the early 90s when Star Wars adverts had a quaint innocence about them. Back before the franchise REALLY became a cash cow. I've been replaying TIE Fighter recently and it just makes me sad that back in about '92-'93 there was so much optimism about Star Wars. To quote Mr. Plinkett though, "Now everything sucks." Every day, commercials like this remind us just how much of a farce Star Wars has become.
