skyjedi2005Speak for yourself surely, But don't speak for others!

I was very skeptical at first but I have found the story to be enjoyable, My only real complaint is some of the button mashing gameplay...

this peice of shit that craps all over oot continuity.

Huh, the PT shits all over OOT continuity as well... hmm... I am sensing some sort of a pattern here...

Actually, TFU shits on a lot more PT continuity than it does OOT continuity. I am sure it places some fine turds on plenty of EU stuff as well, but actually, I was hard pressed to find anywhere where it messed with OOT continuity to any notable degree.

Some of the worst voice acting i have literally ever heard.

Then clearly my friend, you must have missed out on "Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight" and Rebel Assault II: The Hidden Empire", check those out for some truly atrocious voice acting and live action acting.

Rehashed plots and ideas and no original story.

For an EU story, I didn't thing it was THAT bad...

I don't care for this cardboard cutout starkiller character.

Agreed.

The Lucas canon version in force unleashed is stupid, goes against the novelization and deleted scenes in revenge of the sith.

Agreed.

The only voice acting worth criticising was the Emperor, and even that wasn't all that bad (voiced by the same guy that voices Starkiller).

The only bad thing about The Force Unleashed is that it isn't a movie yet. Otherwise it is very well done.

if they make a star wars game, you need it to take you a million hours to win. That's a good star wars game. btw, the quality prolly depends on what system u got it on. I had the PSP Version. idk if there's a difference.

There's significant differences in all the console versions. They're pretty much separate games as far as gameplay goes, but they all stick to the same story.

I think the PS3 and Xbox versions are pretty close, but all the others vary greatly. From what I understand, they are all pretty short lasting. I have only played the DS version (worthless!) and the PS2 version, which is pretty good, and made even better by the scarcity of good new PS2 games.

The cutscenes have the exact same dialogue, and even the exact same voice over recordings, but the PS3 and Xbox have nice pre rendered cutscenes (Wii probably has the same?), while the PS2 uses the character models for the cutscenes. Even the DS with its written dialogue seems to have stuck to the same script.

I saw a cutscene from the Dark side ending for PSP, and it used much different shots. Same dialogue, though, IIRC.

I don't think it's pre-rendered on any of the consoles. The Wii, PS2 and PSP ports were all done by Krome studios. The 360/PS3 cutscenes look so good that you would actually think they're pre-rendered, but apparently they're actually in-game.

Zero Punctuation has a great review up finally.  If you've not seen any of Yahtzee's work, it's pretty much a fast-talking British guy who humorously nitpicks every game until it dies.

I have the PS2 version and the Xbox 360 version. I finished the PS2 version(both endings). I am playing through the Xbox 360 version now. I have to admit I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the PS2 version. I am going to pickup a PSP at some point in the future to compare. My overall experience has been win/win for Force Unleashed.  This is the first Star Wars game I haven't had any major gripes about.

So, having both the PS2 version and the 360 version, which one do you like better? Both pretty much equal, one significantly better than the other, or both worth playing on account of their major differences?

This game would have been awesome if you played as vader throughout the entire game and hunted down the remaining jedi.  You Know what episode III should have been, and what got basically moved to the Dark Horse comics purge.

But of course the clone wars and jedi purge had to be told in a multitude of media to maximize profits.  It is all about the greenbacks for Lucas, the story is completely secondary hell you don't need a script as long as you have cgi, lol.

so, did you actually return it, if you thought it was so bad?

you know, there's this thing called a preview, or a trial version so you don't have to keep

wasting your money..

but maybe you enjoy complaining about it more..

either way, Lucas made his money..

and this is one the most successful games in the history of Star Wars games..

i'm sure they'll be more..

Well, hate to get involved in this, but it could be possible that he simply rented the game from a video rental store.  Just had to play devil's advocate.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

you could be a jedi mindreader, or we could actually

wait and see what he says? even if it was rented, someone STILL paid for it,

so Lucas still gets the money either way...

Your post is kind of funny in the fact that it points to the existence of a demo for FU, yet never considers the possibility that the demo is what sky played. Or that he played it at an in store trial, or at a friends house. He doesn't like the game, fair enough. It is not that bad of a game, but not that good of one either.

One of the most successful games in the history of SW, really? That is pretty sad. Do you have actual statistics of this from somewhere? Or are you just saying that it is? Not that I don't believe you, but it is surprising that this would be the most successful, since there have been some very successful ones in the past that kicked this games ass. I suppose the fact that it was released on every modern platform sans the PC (which is soon to come, no doubt) probably doesn't hurt its success any.

well, we're still waiting to hear back (if ever), what the deal was on where he played it..

anyways, just google 'force unleashed', and sales, and you'll find a lot of articles, like:

http://kotaku.com/5053914/star-wars-the-force-unleashed-selling-by-the-bantha+load

basically, it moved 1.5 million units, and has about 4.3 million total, they're pressing up more

copies to meet the demand.... you're right, there are other Star Wars games that have sold

more units, but this will be up there with them..

In quantity perhaps, but in care and quality it ranks with greats such as "Force Commander" and "Rebellion".

Just finished this yesterday. Long story short, I was highly, but not shockingly, disappointed. The story line was not that great to me and the main character was just WAY TOO powerful, I mean bringing down a damn Star Destroyer from the surface of the planet with the froce alone. I mean, Yoda struggled to bring an x-wing out of a swamp. Then the concept of actually defeating Darth Vader and the Emperor, really left me feeling cheated of my memories of a powerful Vader and supe powerful Emperor, but I guess the prequals had already done that, this just poured more salt in the wound. Why the hell can't they do more like KOTOR, that was a great game with great characters and a great storyline, probably because Lucas didn't have a chance to rape it.

The Force Unleashed was IMO incredible, but it downgrades ANH once again.

God, I hate to say it, but with the prequels and TFU, GL better do some bigger, better, more badass updates to ANH.  It's just so boring to watch now.

Let the criticism begin.  *sigh*

Actually this is why he shouldn't even bother with these changes, the movie had millions of dollars in updates and this guy is still bored.

You guys must realize that game developers over exaggerate environments, powers, weapons and sometimes characters to keep the interest of the gamers.  Espessially younger ones.

BTW Juno was HOT!!!
