SAD BEEP
(and from a Stranger things fan, I don’t really mind…)
Do you like anything?

It’s true, he (?) is the only one I’ve ever seen who thinks Daisy did a terrible job.
Hux/Ren is obviously a Tarkin/Vader rehash for kids (Harry Potter/Hunger Games generation)
Lol.

Even the biggest OT/EU fanboy couldn’t deny the quality of the acting in TFA. The worst comment I’ve heard about the acting in TFA is that the acting in the OT (and PT in a few cases) was better but even among that group Mala stands alone.

Wait… you think I’m a ‘she’ ? (then be extra careful)

John Boyega, Adam Driver and Max von Sydow are good. Andy Serkis as well but it’s the minimum he’s capable to do so nothing to impress me here. Most of the others are quite bad, including Ford, Fisher (probably one of her worst performance) and, you’ve guessed, Ridley and Gleeson.

I can’t tell if you know what a question mark signifies.
Ok so you (?) don’t seem either (!) to know what it signifies (…)…
Jesus Christ.
I said “he (?)” because I don’t know if you are male or female, not because I think you are female. I’m just gonna show my American ignorance for a second and ask if there is such a thing as a question mark in French…?
Are you male?
Just to be sure: my first post was in fact a joke using a AOTC line (pretty obvious, isn’t it ?). Anyway… your way to ask if I’m a dude or a chick is quite cute but I didn’t know if you were serious about it (relevance to the topic by the way ?).

No.

It wasn’t relevant to the topic, I just didn’t want to assume and there was no way to write the sentence other than using “he” or “she.”
This has been fun for sure.
A possibility:
It’s true, my good friend Mala is the only one I’ve ever seen who thinks Daisy did a terrible job.
Or:
It’s true, my good friend Malà is the only one I’ve ever seen who thinks Daisy did a terrible job.
I don’t like to lie.

Okay so I’m gonna bite on this seeing as that’s my generation. I don’t really think this makes much sense seeing as the villains from those series were basically pure evil with no real way around it. In Harry Potter it’s Voldemort who wants to kill all non-magical people and starts a war with one of the main goals being to kill a teenager. His acting in Goblet of Fire and onward actually reminds me of The Emperor’s over the top acting. In The Hunger Games the villain is called President Snow and he’s very mustache twirling and evil. I’m not 100% sure but I think he literally drank blood for some reason (I’m not sure Hunger Games is kind of stupid). But the point is, these villains aren’t really anything like TFA villains.
Also, this is literally Star Wars: The Next Generation for the next generation. Why shouldn’t the villains get away from the classical definitions of villains?

Daisy Ridley gave an outstanding performance. I’d say better than Hammil in the original STAR WARS. Not saying Hammil was bad, just that Ridley was that good.
I actually laughed in the theater when he takes his mask off to reveal that he’s just some bratty kid. It’s a fantastic moment, gives you the exact impression of him that you’re supposed to have: he’s a wannabe who has very little idea what he’s doing.
I strongly agree. The only difference is that you think this is brillant while I believe it ruins the main menace… and the story as a whole. In ANH Tarkin and Vader are cold and intelligent; in TFA their “young versions” Hux and Ren are so childish that I never believe in the First Order. I just don’t buy it.
“I hate TFA, it’s such a rehash. Also, the main villains are not like Tarkin or Vader, which is also bad.”
I kinda feel like this is what a lot of the arguments against the Disney-era films boil down to.
That’s because you don’t understand my point. Rehash or not, you’ve got to make good villains, which are severely lacking in TFA. Hux/Ren is obviously a Tarkin/Vader rehash for kids (Harry Potter/Hunger Games generation), and a lame rehash, which does not work. Like the plot is an OT rehash, and a lame rehash. Hux reminds me of the villain in Die Hard 4. Hux actor also sucks in his part (powerful speech ? Seriously guys…).
Snoke is a pretty decent evil menace, I thought. Hux is a decent fanatical military officer (not like Tarkin at all) and I’m not sure Kylo is even a villain. He does evil things, but I think there’s enough depth to his character that we might see a change of heart.

We haven’t seen enough of the Supreme Leader to make any type of assessment about the level of menace he brings. We don’t even have concrete information about his physical description yet.

Don’t like Stranger Things? May Eleven give you a telekinetically-induced bowel movement.

Nope. He bled from the mouth.
(I’m not sure Hunger Games is kind of stupid).
I almost agree with you. The first movie’s excellent, and the first sequel’s good. Everything starts coming apart with the third movie.
