Info Wanted: 'Day Of The Triffids' 1962 WS - has anyone done a preservation?

Has anybody preserved the widescreen version of this movie from DVD or an HD source yet? The so-called Widescreen DVD is just a cropped down 4:3 version from my understanding.

If I would have seen it I would have for sure done this one,but I have not seen it around.

Still on the lookout for decent Howard the duck preservation too. Any ideas?

There is no indication that it is cropped down at http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/film.php?fid=5556

I have the R2 2nd Sight edition and the quality is awful. Like all the other releases, it's public domain.

A HD sourced version would be fantastic!!!

I have a pretty good copy in widescreen 4X3 in French only, sorry, on dvd r, directly recorded on Canal + in France via mu dvd recorder

I have an old monster magazine that has a photo in it that I have nver seen in any prints of the movie. The caption reads something like "A Triffid creates a fuss on a bus" But I could easily be a plane from the photo as I remember. Anyone know if some prints ran longer?
