And, besides, what use is there to be gained from remembering your dreams in detail other than entertainment?
Inspiration.
Some dreams are nonsense, but I think that all dreams have value. Even if just in an Un Chien Andalou sort of way.
I still stand by the theory that if you were to actually see your dreams recorded, they would be actual nonsense. And, besides, what use is there to be gained from remembering your dreams in detail other than entertainment?
I believe it’s in shitposting.
Clearly.
Nope.

Inspiration for what?
Doing taxes.

Art.
Oh, and to pre-emptively cover the inevitable “What kind of art?” question:
And many, many, many more possibilities that don’t even come to mind as of this moment.

- Paintings
- Drawings
- Etchings
- Engravings
- Sculpture
- Prose
- Poetry
- Filmmaking
- Music

Reasonable.
How reasonable?
Quite reasonable, sir. Quite reasonable.
We’re gonna need some examples of exactly how reasonable.
More reasonable than you can shake a stick at.
I’m shocked he didn’t respond to that post.

The Person in Question
Before The Force Awakens came out, I had a dream that I had seen it. First of all, we were in a really grungy theatre, and there were only like, 20 seats in the whole place. I don’t remember much from the film, but Han and Leia had small roles, and Luke was mentioned, but never seen. Kylo Ren only appeared in shadows, and Hux was the main villain, and weilded a lightsaber. Finn was the main character, not Rey, and he had his arm cut off at the end by Hux, before killing Hux (can’t remember how). He got a robot hand, as people in Star Wars do, but it looked like a cheaper verison of the T-800’s arm from The Terminator, and I remember saying “I knew they didn’t want to use CGI, but this is preposterous!” At the end some First Order official reported to Kylo that Hux had died, and Kylo said something like “I’ll have to do it myself” and the last shot of the film was the shot from the trailer of him igniting his tri-bladed sabre.
Come to think of it, that was a pretty awesome dream.
Not enough people read the EU.
Come to think of it, that was a pretty awesome dream.
And probably a better movie than the real TFA (all IMHO, of course).
Had a dream were I met two different, equally vivacious women and got romantically involved with them both. I was ready and willing to see them both at the same time – informing neither of the of the other’s existence, of course. Regardless, one of the girls found out about the other and gave me an ultimatum to choose between them. As I liked them both equally, I don’t want to have to choose between them. Then I woke up.
The dream gave me a good pretty good idea for a sci-fi story, actually, and I’ve already figured out an ending: Replace myself with a mad scientist proxy, and have him stick the two girls in a Fly-type transporter, thus resolving the love triangle by merging them into a single woman.
My last dream was pretty disconcerting.
It was like I was trapped in a Twilight Zone episode or a David Lynch movie where the laws of physics themselves seemed to be breaking down around me. I would see things appear and disappear in-and-out of thin air without anyone else noticing, and the people in my life themselves would change shape – take on different hairstyles, skin colours, even different dimensions (Imagine someone becoming a living Picasso and you’ve got a pretty accurate description or what I’m talking about.).
Matters got so bad that I opened the front door of my home, and facing the cold winter weather outside, I screamed out to God to deliver me from whatever was happening. Well, it seems that God did answer my cry, for the weird breakdown of reality came to a halt. In this new stabilized reality, I found that I was now blond, in my early teens, and with a pronounced overbite; I was also the sidekick of both Superman and the Flash, dressed in some Kid Flash/Superboy combo outfit.

Please tell me the Superboy part of that is the 90’s one.
.
There were some similarities, yes. No sunglasses or leather jacket, though.
I meant to mention this dream earlier, but in the tedium of my tedious life, I forgot about it. Luckily, I recalled the dream just now.
Basically, the dream began with me connecting an N64 console to my TV and struggling to get a pristine reception through the screen. Then some weird shit with my house catching fire transpired and the dream realigned. Suddenly I found myself watching a SW equivalent of Reservoir Dogs. Watto had brought all these gangsters together for some nefarious purpose. One of the gangsters was played by Bryan Adams.
Anyway, Bryan did something which pissed Watto off, so Watto had him killed.
Had another one of my “back to high school” dreams earlier today. In this dream, I was crawling through the hallways and up-and-down the stairs on my belly like I was a giant lizard, hissing like a snake at anyone who looked at me the wrong way or tried to interfere with me.
I had a bad dream about my ex last night for the first time in a couple weeks. Yay.

That kind of reminds me of the few times I’ve suffered sleep paralysis. It’s unnerving as hell, to say the least.
A friend of mine was recently explaining his experiences with this. it all sounds pretty terrifying.
When I was young I had this experience quite frequently but until just recently, I did not know that it was an actual thing. I always thought it was due to a fear of the dark … feeling that actual presence in the room without being able to see it. I do remember thinking my childhood home was haunted but I could never prove it. Sleep paralysis was one of the scariest things I’ve had happen to me during my lifetime. On occasion this experience revisits me and it still scares the shit out of me even though I know I’m in a safe place.
Had a dream that I finally watched a film from the MCU that I actually liked. I don’t recall any details; I just know it featured subterranean civilizations and had the Hulk in it.
it featured subterranean civilizations
That is cool.
Subterranea is a thing in Marvel. There are moloids and stuff too.
