I have now seen the full thing so here is some feedback as requested..........

There is more juddering on some of the BTS scenes. Is this a PAL/NTSC different source issue??

Some of the comic shots are not on screen long enough.

I am no expert but there seem to be bits of the film missing and some scenes shortened. Am I correct there??

Subtitles would be good to explain the differences between the 35mm/70mm Theatrical and Digital Theatrical/DVD/VHS releases. Likewise the censored UK scene which I missed. Was it shown??

Also an explanation of the extra lines in the Digital Theatrical/DVD/VHS release. I think that was missed.

In the Lars Homestead, after Anakin has confessed his slaughter of the Tuskens and slumped to the floor, Padmé states, "To be angry is to be human," and Anakin responds, "I'm a Jedi! I know I'm better than this!"

In all I loved it and have only written the above as feedback cos I know that you are far from happy with the (so far) end result and asked for specifics.

Okay Russ, I know I'm a pain but with some of the BTS and stills, are there any that you think flat-out don'twork and should be removed? If so can you send me a PM.

The juddering on some of the BTS stuff is probably where I've slowed down very brief clips so we get a better (& longer) look at them.

Again, which of the comic shots are you referring too.

and yes I think subtitles are probably going to be necessary, unless I (or some willing volunteer) do some sort of commentary on top

I think I'd prefer sub-titles to a commentary any time, unless it was from the cast or crew.

hi all,

I'm on the scrounge again!!!

My renewed efforts on this project have had an unforeseen side-effect......I'm really, really enjoying myself again!! And am trying to push the envelope in several subtle ways...hence the scrounging. I'm after some 'clean' sound effects. I'm sure I could get them myself if I ripped all the SW movies to my HD and went through them all but hopefully someone here will already have what I need. I'm after:

A lightsaber being activated and de-activated, some saber hum and movement (swishes through the air etc), and some generic beast noises (preferably from Star Wars, but not recognisably from Episode II).....oh, and a Wilhelm!

Cheers all

Is the Wilhelm you have taken from a film, or is it a raw isolated sound effect? If it's isolated, I'd be really really interested in getting a copy of that file too

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

okay, the saber sounds work fine, thanks a lot Yancy, still need to swinging ones tho. The scream really didn't work for me but I've got some ideas on that one.

for those few who have watched the wip version, I'm concerned about the Obi-Wan/Dooku scene where Dooku taunts Obi with the truth. I have nothing at all to go in with this scene...is it best to just cut it?

Daveytod, I forgot to mention this in the review I sent you. I really liked it. It re-affirmed to me what a cool movie Episode II could have been. Granted you are working with possibly the most hated item GL has put out since the Holiday Special, but don't let that scare you off of the project. I think you have a fine bit of editing alchemy going on with this. I can already see me watching this more than the actual DVD of Episode II.

hey JD, did you watch the workprint yet?

question for Sluggo and Russ, I know Russ picked up on it but how obvious is it in those cases that I've re-edited scenes? For example, I've lost the entire fireplace scene, and tinkered with the Geonosis battle something rotten. I'm asking simply because I'm going through said battle again at the moment (hopefully for the last time!!) and it's become apparent to me that I've pretty much re-edited the whole thing to make it easier to show what I need to show. When I originally did The Sith Revealed I simply pasted the BTS video over the audio track, but whilst TCR is essentially more of the same, the amount of extra work I've done, i.e .looping audio, making use of soundtracks and effects, slowing video, and loads more - is unbelievable. It blows my minds that the very first post in this thread was over a year ago!!

I know I've still got a lot of work to do on this project. I'm 40 minutes from the end of my final (and I mean final) run through of the main video, then I need to go through it again whilst comparing it to my library of stills to see if theres anything I meant to include but missed, then add some final sound fx, then export it, then learn how to add subtitles, then author the DVD - and this in itself will probably be a hell of an undertaking with the things I've got in mind...the only thing I wish I could do is animated DVD menus...ah well, I suppose I can only do so much. I've only got this far by playing it by ear!

Don't really know why I'm blabbering on here or what the point of this post was....but I've spent all afternoon working on this thing and just wanted to have a natter about it!

daveytod, I'm a bit too headachey right now to write an indepth review of the TCR WIP - but I must say that you've done a great job. It's better than TSR. The stuttering is the only real nagging thing to me. However, there really isn't any way around that (as you said you need to slow down the footage).

I don't know if I'll have enough free time in the next few weeks, but email me at klokwerk*at*gmail[dot]com and tell me your ideas about the DVD and its menus. I'd like to help out with that if possible. Of course I can do a custom cover for you too if you have ideas for that as well.

Is anyone still seeding this torrent? I've been stuck at 23% or something for a week. Or can anyone send or trade it with me in the UK?

I think it was obvious in some spots where stuff was edited out, but the edits weren't jarring. Mostly, it was a case of noticing that something was missing after the fact.

There are no seeders and I've since deleted the torrent itself I'm sorry to say. But don't worry, that was just the work in progress, the final product should be out (fairly) soon
