hi guys,

just a quick progress report so you don't all think I've dropped of the planet. Also figured I'd bump my own thread to try n drum up some interest with the influx of new members we've had recently.

I'm on one final pass through of the main video....I've said this about 3 times now but whilst watching the test DVD back I noticed lots of odd frames here n there that wern't showing up in Womble. So I'm having to watch it thru, spot the frames, then shave a frame either side of that point, and hope it works lol.

Still struggling to find an easy way of getting the subtitle effect I'm looking for tho

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am one seriously happy dude! We are good to G.O. on the subtitle front. Managed to suss it out in DVD Lab Pro itself, and got exactly what I needed! So I went through half the movie today, writing down the timing, whapped the times into DVD Lab Pro, burned off a test copy (the number of discs Ive used on test copies alone must be ridiculous), and hey presto, it works! And it looks bloody spot on to...top notch stuff.

So, we finally hit the home strecth. Half a movie left to subtitles (no more than 3 or 4 hours work), then onto the actual DVD authoring. Just working on a few ideas now for menu backgrounds. Won't be a very elaborate thing, my menu's never are. Although I am at least planning to put a disclaimer at the beginning of the discs, just haven't decided who's to steal/use yet?

In short, not long now gang.....

DVD-RWs are your friend

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

The one I burnt on a RW was jumpy as hell....most of my RWs only last 5 or so times of being rewritten before they start playing up

I've just had my final(ish as ever) test burn, just to make sure the film looks fine. And it's all looking good. Subs look good, no lip synch issues (which is what plagues me about The Sith Revealed), bonus features look good too. I'm hoping for a final release by the end of the month.....

Phew...just had a very, VERY, close call.

Been having some trouble compiling the DVD all morning. DVD Lab Pro just wouldnt do it. I guessed I was putting to many extras on it, so took some off but still wouldn't complete the compiling. So I closed it down, restarted the computer, opened the program and tried again...when I had a wierd error message on my computer saying the data I was saviing was lost. Odd, I thought, I'm not saving any data. So I opened my ext HD folder, opned the TCR folder and there was.....nothing, zip, diddlysquat. Oh dear, I thought, so I came back out, and suddenly the whole HD folder vanished, and the computer couldnt find the drive. Oh no, I thought.

Anyway, blind panic ensued, leads pulled out and back in, drivers reinstalled, still nothing. Oh shit, I screamed, I've lost it all, so bloody close n all.

Turns out it was just gremlins. I followed teh age old advice and switched the HD off, left it for 30 seconds, and switched it back on. And all is well with the world again

with very little fanfare I would like to announce that 'The Clones Revealed' is finished, bar some teething problems with the final DVD mastering. As I gear up for the huge multimedia blitz that will shortly follow (seriously, this things gonna be everywhere lol), I started a blog on starwars.com and although I haven't yet mentioned the movie I'm wondering...how safe would a bit of promotion in the dragons lair be, or is it just a really, really stupid idea?

Then it's not a good thing to do i think............

Although I think promoting it on sites like TFN might reach the same people (after all most SW.com-members are probably reading there too), without getting in trouble with the suits...

Ahh...now I see what you're up Davey. Sounds good.
Don't quite know why I missed this topic, suppose I was too concerned about Adywan's problems on the other thread. Poor sod. At least you managed to retrieve your data. Poor bloke's lost a lot of shit (technical term) over there.

Bad, bad, bad idea. They are not open to most of what's going on here. TFN is the same way. The quickest way to get shut down would be to make some kind of announcement over there.

Let it spread far and wide from here and fanedit.org. I'm sure it'll eventually make its way to TFN and starwars.com, but at that point it'll be impossible to stop
