Just so everyone knows, I am the person previously known as Bridger12. I got myself a new computer, and I completely forgot my log-in information, and the cookies didn’t save. So I had to start a different account, with a new username. Anyway, how is the work coming along, Venny? I feel like I really need to update Jerry soon.

Not to sound rude, but you really don’t need to update Jerry for me. I have his email and will give him updates when they are ready. If you want updates on the project I will post them here you don’t need to ask me. This project has shifted a lot since it initially started so it’s not moving as fast as it was before this is gonna take time (lots of time) and it’s not something I really intend to put all of my time into since I have work and college. When things are ready they will be ready the movie isn’t going anywhere

I do wonder how far into the restoration it’s at…

Wish I had found out about this community sooner, I’d have donated in a heartbeat. Would’ve loved to have something other than the DVD to watch.

I get the feeling we will all have access to this restoration once it’s finished.

I’ll be there.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

I can’t tell you how grateful I am for this restoration.

Guess I’m gonna have to use a VPN?

Is there any way you could use Photoshop to fill in the edges that were cropped in the missing frames from the PAL DVD?

Sadly yes. The movie was blocked thanks to a company called Lasso Group so many countries outside the US will not be able to watch it.

It was wonderful to be able to tune in for the premiere of the scan on YouTube yesterday, especially with the director of the movie dropping in like that. He seemed enthused because Venny’s efforts are the best pathway to getting something like this done, given legal restraints.

I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

I’m late in saying it but- That hands down has to be the best film scan I have even seen

I just watched the 1080p version this today, and I made an account here just so that I could say thank you. I’ve loved this movie since early childhood. It holds up to this day. I never saw it in theaters, so I’ve never seen it to this level of clarity. Thank you so much.

Question. Out of pure curiosity, are the short sequences that have a different color pallet from the DVD and were they used in places where the 35mm film was too damaged?

The folder with proxy files has been updated with a temporary video sync. Splices were fixed and missing frames were replaced with frames from the PAL DVD, VHS audio was muxed in, and the video was cropped down

I guess this answers my question.

Unless I’m missing it, did someone do the film restoration in 1.33 aspect or only in 1.67?
