You know even after Christianity dies out something even more crazy and silly will replace it.

You are assuming that Christianity will ever die out. Even Judaism has not died out and it has been around far longer than Christianity.

I think it depends on how long you expect humanity to last. Civilization is about 7000-8000 years old, modern humans have been around for 200,000 years, who knows where it will go. There really isn't that many Jews in the world most are in Israel and America and I don't think Israel will end well.

14 million Jews is a pretty significant number. I'm more worried for the other countries in Israel's region than Israel itself. They've always been able to defend themselves when faced with bad odds. And now they're doing military exercises that'll put them within reach of Iran's nuclear facilities. Heh, if anybody needs to watch out over there, it's Israel's neighbors.

Don't forget that the Jews have pretty much been through hell and back. For 8000 years people have been trying to get rid of them and they're still here. That tells me something.

Man you guys are hopeless. You just aren't capable of keeping your mouth shut and minding your own business. This thread is a place for atheists to vent about how much they hate religion. It is not a thread for commenting on this thread. Nobody cares what you think, go start your own thread and fill it with your worthless opions and reactions. Push on retards, your needed in the "Sucking Indiana Jones' dick" thread.

I am an Atheist, but I may start a religion based around this Rob fellow.

Since they're like poetry, what with the rhyming and all, I find that I only need to watch three out of the six films.

These days most don't even have the balls to call themselves atheists they call themselves secular humanists or agnostics.

Yes, I'm not agnostic, I'm an atheist with no balls.

Sheesh, why am I surprised that sky was just as annoying three years ago as he is today.

Ah, this reminds of a Young Earth Creationist Fundie I encountered on a theology forum some months back. He made the bold assertion that almost all agnostics are really closeted atheists.

Sigh ... the Internet's like women ... can't live with it, can't live without it.

Ironically, I partially share this sentiment with those Fundies.
Don't worry about that Fundie, by the way - they usually claim that all atheists and doubters are children of Satan, so that was a pretty mild one in comparison.

I simply think that a lot of people who claim to be agnostics, may actually not realize how close their views are to weak atheism.
There seems to be this common misconception that atheism is "there is no God; full-stop" - so expressing uncertainty is called agnisticism.

Truth is, as soon as you concede that there is no reason to believe in any Gods, and no religion is more valid than the hundreds of others, and that their claims may only be true on a speculative basis... you've bridged the gap to atheism.
If you consider theistic viewpoints more plausible or relevant than that, then I guess you're agnostic...

Also available is this lovely thread about how politely disagreeing with those who are nothing more than mistaken in their concept of the universe, believing in a deity and such notions.  I am bumping this to make sure that my Mormon thread stays available for genuine inquisition about our beliefs, and all the bashing of any religion (read between the lines atheists: evangelical Christians are always in season) can be done here.  Then it will provide a nice opportunity to bump another brilliant thread I created!
