hey adigital man, can't wait for your edit of sith. will it be like the fabled 3 hour plus final rough cut of the film, with all the deleted scenes inserted.
“Always loved Vader’s wordless self sacrifice. Another shitty, clueless, revision like Greedo and young Anakin’s ghost. What a fucking shame.” -Simon Pegg.

That version will be created, but I'm planning to also do a number of things to make ROTS a better film for my "official" edit." Those ideas are in the first post.

ADM are you still thinking about doing an edit of it that specifically makes it so that Vader's identity isn't revealed? - IE: Preserving the 'real' identity of Vader untill Empire?
Personally I really love such an idea & even more so when you mentioned that you might do such a version awhile back...have you thought about it anymore/still want to do it?
I have a LIMITED number of DUAL LAYER DVD's on hand so I can make about 6 DL DVD's right now so if your after ANY of ADM's dual layer discs on my list; and would be willing to make a donation please email me for details !
And I think the reason the edits feel to you like they cut in the middle of a scene, is because they do. This happens with the theatrical cut of every film. It's called editing. We just don't realize it because we haven't seen the entire scene, we see the parts the director wants us to see. You've watched the Star Wars saga a million times and you've gotten used to the flow of the George Lucas version. I don't think that fact can be used in criticism of ADigitalMan's editing skills or whether or not his edit of the film is good.
I went back and looked at the scene again. It's not as abrupt of a cut as I remembered it. My rational thought was that considering how into politics Padme was (she was questioning him about his views a few seconds earlier), she wouldn't let it stand and there'd be some attempt on her part to interrogate him further, etc. The cut just kinda left it too open.
I also remember a much more awkward cut in this edit . It's the inclusion of the Padme's bedroom scene. Basically she's telling the story of the alien kids. It ends with her saying, "They all died" and then it immediately cuts to blaring triumphant music and Obi-Wan coming out of lightspeed. It just needed an extra beat in there. It needs more room to breathe. We're hearing a pretty emotional story and then suddenly it's forgotten about with a pretty upbeat music cue. I thought it was actually a fairly unintentionally funny moment. It reminds me of one of those "Walker, Texas Ranger" clips that Conan O'Brien used to have on his show. Basically, a very young Haley Joel Osment is talking to Wilford Brimley in good spirits explaining his nickname, saying stuff like "It means 'little friend' in Cherokee!" Very suddenly he looks up and says "Walker tells me I have AIDS." and the clip just cuts and the audience it left going "WHA?!"
Anyway, I just wanted to make it clear that I didn't bring this up to deride ADigitalMan's edit. It's a solid piece of work. It's my favorite fan edit of AOTC. There are just a few beats that felt off to me.
I like ROTS alot, so I'm hoping on an edit with just the deleted scenes that work to be inserted. No cutting bits out, just adding more bits in...please..pretty please
A quick comment about an Episode 1 edit. If anyone is planning to do any work to this one (maybe incorperating some digital Yoda footage?) there is a scene I'd like to see tinkered with.
The only thing that bugs me about that movie is Anakin destroying the droid control ship by accident. I know that the MagFan edit takes care of this (and I haven't seen the ADM edit yet) but I would love if someone would dub in Qui-Gon's voice to Anakin right before he blows up the ship. This would be a deliberate allusion to Ben helping Luke destroy the Death Star. Maybe putting in some lines from before the Pod Race, where Qui-gon tells Anakin to "Trust your instincts" or such. You would have to move the death scene of Qui-gon a little earlier in the movie, but it could work. Besides, Qui-gon's death precedes Anakin's blowing up the control ship in the revised 3rd draft of the script. Am I making sense?
“Back when we made Star Wars, we just couldn’t make Palpatine as evil as we intended. Now, thanks to the miracles of technology, it is finally possible. Finally, I’ve created the movies that I originally imagined.” -George Lucas on the 2007 Extra Extra Special HD-DVD Edition

Never mind. This is already being discussed in the Episode 2 edit thread.
Great covers! Do we get to download your handiwork?

In one of the Rebellion Scenes, Palpatine and Anakin have a conversation where Padme is refered to as Senator Amidala and both use the term Senator a few times
Good to know. There were only a few references in the main movie that I recall. Hopefully this will be easy to cut around. It should be easier than Ep II in any case.
Sorry I missed it last time but in the second of the three Rebellion scenes in Padmes Apartment she is referred to as the former queen of Naboo and is addressed as a Senator...
