Thanks. It hasn’t got long left, but no bids. Rather than asking the seller to check whem there’s limited time remaining, I’ve put a conservative bid on, so let’s see what happens.
fingers crossed for the music.
Baobab Archiver you may want to check Spleen for my latest upload of the restored Range Rider feature length special restored in HD as originally broadcast including restored intro in HD

Thanks for the heads up. Just so you know, later pressings of the Blu-ray had the two partners presented as movie length. You could also send away the 2 parter discs and they’d send the corrected discs in the post. Still no pre-credits sequence on this episode though.
You may find that there were scenes cut in the 2 parter too, as they often did that to bring the individual episodes down to a certain length.
I’m downloading now and will try to seed for a bit.
Incidentally, I haven’t yet received that DVD I won. It should’ve arrived a few days ago, so I’ve had to chase up with the seller. Hopefully it hasn’t got lost in the post somewhere 😦
Good to know, I bought it second hand off e bay, didn’t know they did a second pressing other than the one with audio commentary tracks but there a bit to pricey for me and I believe the commentary tracks are again on split 2 parters?
Would be good to listen to though.
Guess my take at least restores the intro.

Yes I’d love to hear the commentaries too.
I’m not sure if that set (Special Edition?) has two parters or movie length episodes but the newer versions of the original set have the movie length.
Incidentally, I just noticed in your spleen description that you had issues with the audio length. That could be due to using a UK DVD as the source as it will be playing slightly faster due to PAL speed up. Not sure if that’s what it is but thought I’d mention it just in case!
The Mexican Slayride DVD finally arrived today, but sadly it’s just a straight repress of the disc in the season set. It wasn’t looking hopeful when I saw the copyright date on the box was 2008 (after the season sets were released).
Not sure there’s any other likely source that’s DVD quality or greater, so I’ll try to get around the Macrovision on the VHS and do my best with that as a source.
Worth checking the organ site if this project is of interest to you…
Cup A’ Joe restoration now available in the usual place.
That will be it for a while, but I may share all the reconstructed teasers from the remainder of Season 3 once they’re finished. This maybe a while as they are quite time consuming (and I may run out of motivation before I’m done!). Currently completed an additional 3 so plenty more to go…!
As always, I’m still on the look out for higher quality sources of the edited episodes , so if you have recordings please do get in touch.
Little update…
I finally found some time to hook up my VCR to the Hauppauge HD-PVR2. I also passed it through my Panasonic DVD Recorder as I have been informed that doing that helps with image stabilisation (that may not be true though!)
Result is that what appeared to be a macrovision block (the DVD Recorder refused to record it) has now been overcome as it recorded fine to my PC.
The quality (for VHS) is surprisingly good.
Not sure when I’ll have time to do the full episode edit, as it will be quite time consuming to get the best overall quality, but it WILL be coming at some point 😃
As always, if anyone has higher quality sources for the missing parts, please let me know!
Thanks
Thanks for the cup a Joe episode I took the music cue you inserted and added the music hamburger in paradise from a higher source and added it to the original background track of the blu ray episodes so now sounds as the original but at better quality so doesn’t distract.
Ah so you’ve used a “clean” version of the song and overlayed it into the standard mix.
Very clever! Didn’t think to do that. It helps that it was just removed rather than replaced I guess. Believe it or not it was a fair bit of work to get it as good as I did. It didn’t even run at the right speed, so I had to play around with the percentage speed change in Audacity until I got it spot on. Oddly, the same happened with Beverly Hills Assault, but that needed to be speed adjusted in the opposite direction!
I often wonder if there are any bits missing other than just the music when they play around with the tracks. I could be wrong but I think BA’s suit doesn’t make a tearing sound in the newer cut in Beverly Hills Assault, whereas it does in the original with the “dedicated follower of fashion” track.
Mexican Slayride now up in the usual place.
This was a tricky restoration and I’m not 100% happy with it, but will have to do unless a better source turns up.
Now to crack on with more of HD versions of the pre-credits teasers from season 3. Soul destroying but worth it in the end (well for me at least!)
Just a thought here (being an A-Team fan and having the US DVD’s and UK Blu Ray set) I remember in the US many years ago Columbia House put on VHS and DVD Mexican Slayride and many other episodes. If I recall those sources were not cut.
I was VERY disappointed about the whole teaser thing for Season 2 and 3. On the US DVD many from season 4 are missing which made no sense.
I would be interested in whatever restoration you guys are doing. Like I said in the Knight Rider thread, which is a show that had more blu ray releases, I would love to help.

I know sometimes they use scenes not in the episode…FYI.
Here are the Columbia House DVD’s I was speaking of
Season 2 teasers are from unknown DVD source, they are missing off the UK DVD’s and the Blu Rays but I was trying to trace every release I could and was surprised to find these intact.
The UK DVD’s on season 3 have the teasers but think the blu rays they are missing.
Some of the tv showings across Forces TV on the 1st set of showings was missing some of the teasers across a lot of the seasons.
The missing scene from the pilot I have included is VHS and my quick edit of it is a mix of HD and VHS I have tried mixing as a lot a little silly seconds missing of the blu ray such as a longshot of the plan taking off, additional shot of Lynch, Murdock howling then of course his singing.
The VHS has the jumping jack flash playing all the way through this scene but the blu ray when it does cut back in the music is removed so the back ground noise is silent whilst face and Murdock are talking, this scene is cut different ways on different DVD and blu ray releases.
Mexican Slayride has a teaser, its an NBC narrated one similar to Knight Rider. Can It be recreated? Sure. I dont see any scenes that were not in the episode other than the black screens for the characters and the bubbles with their photos at the end

With it been the split 2 part Pilot movie I would lay good odds it’s the edited version, same happened in the UK original Playback VHS titles where uncut but when the same title released them on DVD they where the cut versions.
All HD broadcast versions are the newer cut versions with missing trailers. Only some old DVDs had the intros newer DVDs chopped them off as did the blu rays.

Thanks for the heads up with that!
Although it might look easy, there are a lot of scenes with text overlayed.
Recreating a “plain” version without the text is straightforward, but I don’t have the technical knowhow to recreate the text faithfully. If someone does and wants to do a combined effort just let me know.
The other consideration is that the audio is very poor. Some clean will help but I can’t work mircales. It seems that the quality improves greatly in the last 5 seconds or so - shame it’s not like that for the whole trailer!
I have been out of the restoration arena for a little while for various reasons. Not sure when I’ll be back in full swing but it’s definitely on my list to finish the Season 3 teaser reconstructions. I’ve got about half way through the season so far.
I noticed there was a US BluRay release planned. Did it go ahead, and I’m assuming they were the same versions as the UK releases?

Yes, that’s part of the challenge and why they take so long.
I use the HD source wherever it exists, and have to resort to upscaled DVD for the bits that don’t.
The real challenge is ensuring you don’t miss a part that actually exists in the episode 😃

Slightly off topic I started reconstructing some episodes of the Fall Guy that the DVDs had massive music replacement managed a small handful redubbing the scenes in question from an old broadcast episode using the sound and dubbing over the DVD version.
I redubbed many of season 4 and 5 but really struggling to get hold of broadcast episodes of season 1 and 2 done a few of season 1 of episodes I’ve managed to get and really surprised by how much they replaced but some episodes can’t do a full reconstruction due to the DVds also cutting scenes with anyone singing on screen.
Did a handful of A Team season 2 teasers but gave up a long time ago as very time consuming but still have the unfinished files on my laptop just need the time and energy to finish them.
I love The Fall Guy too but don’t have access to anything other than the UK DVD seasons 1&2 which I own, plus various off-air recordings of seasons 3-5 that I’ve found online.
I kick myself that I didn’t record them all from UK Bravo years ago. I recorded all of Knight Rider thinking it would never get released on DVD but skipped The Fall Guy.
So I have had off air, DVD and Blu-ray of Knight Rider, but not a single complete set of The Fall Guy.
Ah well, you live and learn!

Heard nothing about a US Blu Ray release. If you finished the season 2 teasers do you have a link you can PM? Thanks for your efforts. As for recreating Mexican Slayride’s teaser thats the only source I know of. It is a miracle we have that. The quality on the Blu ray’s from the UK is impressive though.
