“The guy” that did the chapter titles and time codes for, just, the Renegade Grindhouse ESB would be yours truly.
😃

Edit:
I need to mention that my chapter menu is not a cut and paste job from Chapterdb. I ran this video through my media player, MPC- HC , selected points in the video where I’ve selected my chapter stops, and wrote down the player’s timecode in hh:mm: ss:mm when in freeze-frame.
There is a difference between the chapter shops between the official Blu Ray release and mine for this release. The official Blu Ray tends to put the chapter markers at scenes where they are in the middle of effects transitional wipes–horizontal, vertical, clock-motions, etc. My markers are positioned at scenes where the effects transitional wipes are done.

Just out of curiosity, is ESB Sanitized still happening? Or is the Team Blu work the focus for the time being?

Did that guy who posted chapter titles and time codes for the Despecialized Edition make them for the ESB Grindhouse also?

The thought occurred to me that you may be referring to the chapter menu in the Blu Ray ISO image version. Well, I had no involvement in that release. To be honest, I don’t member whether there were chapter stops and I no longer have the ISO disc image. I just download the ISO image, like everybody else, extracted the ISO, and joined the m2ts files. The m2ts files didn’t have chapter stops embedded so I made my own chapter menu, and shared that here and on M/S.

I just wanted to be clear on that.

-1 was the only person working on “ESB Sanitized”. I don’t know if he has finished it yet or not, but I’m pretty sure that the OT community is not at the top of his Christmas list, so I would look to Team Blu for the next ESB release…

I’m surprised it wasn’t cancelled all together. Thanks for the info!

Straight from the horse’s mouth. Thank you for the ongoing updates, Williarob. I’m definitely excited to see what Team Blu has on the docket for us!

Well I can say it is going to be GREAT! but we will be doing Jedi first, then Empire, then SW.

We are going to give Williarob a break from SW for a while lol so we will go backwards.

I’ve looked hard and haven’t been able to come across any Mkv. or multi-parts for the ESB Grindhouse. I’m aware it might be on MySpleen still, so If anyone could PM me an invite or something I’d appreciate it greatly!

Otherwise, some direction would be welcomed if I am wrong about the whereabouts of a download.

Thanks again for your hard work and dedication Team Negative1 !!

It doesn’t hurt to offer help, but it always hurts to disregard those that do.

I don’t know how to use the iso file of this…(I’m pretty new)

I’m halfway out the door right now so I can’t help you, but in the future you’re going to want to avoid asking the same question six times in a row. For what it’s worth, I got it from the spleen, but it was well before the big negative1 dust up so I have no idea whether it’s still there.

The MKV files were removed some time ago.
But I understand that MKVs can be made out of the iso.

Alternately, you can mount the iso on a virtual drive (via Alcohol 52%) or burn it on an empty standard Blu-ray. Then you can view it on your PC with PowerDVD or watch it on your TV if you have a Blu-ray player. 😃

Or if you have Windows 10, you can do it natively.

It is not difficult to extract an MKV from the ISO. That is most definitely your best option, considering I’m pretty sure there were some issues in the MKV that were fixed for the ISO.

Ive had this for a while and just now got around to wanting to burn it to BD. Quite frankly, I dont know how to do it off the top of my head. The version I have is AVCHD and contains multiple folders of the same thing, so to speak. Some of the files are MKV 1kb files that play the whole movie when you click on it. One folder contains the AVCHD 22GB file. Im gonna fool around with it and read online the best way to do it, but I sure would a ppreciate a helping hand. Not a tutorial, just what avenue I should take. I can figure it out from there.

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out.

If you have the ISO file already, go download imgBurn and burn it to BluRay.

So I dont have to read 60 pages of this thread and do Google searches out the ass, can someone clear up a few things for me concerning this preservation?

1: I have the AVCHD version, is the audio purposely out of sync?
2: Is the PQ purposely very contrasty and dark to emulate old grindhouse movies? Or, is this just a straight scan of the print with minor color correction?

The audio should not be out of sync, and yes, it was a scan with limited color correction. This is most noticeably a problem in the first scene with Darth Vader on the Star Destroyer while the “Imperial March” plays like 15 minutes into the movie. The picture keeps fading to pink and back out again.

I do like the look of it, but why is it so dark? Was there not enough of a light source when it was scanned, or is that just the nature of the particular print and the age of it? Being color blind I dont notice subtle nuances of changes in color, but I do notice that there is a certain hue or tint throughout. From what Ive read, its becoming a bit scarce out there to find. Im guessing the DVD5 version is 480p and probably doesnt look too hot.
As far as the audio, it looks to be about a half frame off. I wonder if I can import it into Premeire and move the audio track a hair to correct it. Any other ideas on why its off? The file plays off as well as the BD I burned. The version I have has 9 audio tracks with the last 3 being Lucas and one other commentary. It also has the Portugese track. Regardless, its really cool to see the film grain and the rawness of the film.
