Anyone seen the trailer for this? Looks hilarious.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

I did not, but, how is this movie going to be? Politically incorrect like South Park Bigger Longer & Uncut? Will it criticize war and war on terrorism, or support it?
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

I think its fair to say it will be against the war.

I've read that the original plans for Trey and Matt was to do a scene-by-scene re-shoot (actually a CO-shoot) of "The Day After Tomorrow" with puppets (a film they had access to a copy of the script before production began), and to release it on the very same day as the live action version, labeling it the "puppet version". Unfortunally they would have some legal problems doing that, and they decided to do an original movie instead.

i especially love how they flash all the names on screen making you think these people are going to star in the movie when really those are the people they are all mocking...

Ohmigod. I'm not sure what to make of this. But being Trey and Matt, it should be pretty funny. Here's a link to the trailers for anyone interested...

Has anyone seen the movie Trey and Matt did before South Park? Cannibal the Musical, It's funny as hell. I'm glad I saw it before South Park was made. That way I had no idea what I was getting into.

Orgazmo is almost embarassing to watch, but it's way better than BASEketball. South park bigger longer and uncut is still their masterpiece.

I can't wait to see this...it'll be great to have a neutral film out there, one that exposes both sides as being completely stupid. Despite everyone criticising Stone and Parker, they really provide some of the best commentary on world and social affairs that can be found today (South Park is much deeper than the critics will acknowledge).

I remember their comments about the 2000 election being to the effect of it being a lose-lose scenario, among other things. If this film as insightful as any of the comments they made when getting "That's My Bush" ready, should be hilarious.

Well every election is a lose-lose scenario. More precisely, a (lose-)x(number of candidates) scenario. Unless one of the candidates is Arnold Schwazenegger.

Had to resurrect this thread t spread the following news: once again, Parker & Stone are in danger of getting slapped with an NC-17 for Team America: World Police (much like South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut). Why? It's over a scene featuring simulated oral sex. Between marionettes. How hypocritical can you get, MPAA?

Update: apart from getting their R (they had to excise segments of the 3 & 1/2 minute sex scene, as well as part of a scene where Kim Jong-Il feeds Hans Blix to his shark tank), the sneak of Team America ran this weekend. What can I tell you about it? From what I've seen, Parker & Stone are back in fine form; the character of the actor is appearing in 'Lease: The Musical' when he is recruited by Team America, and the typical shenanigans ensue. No target is safe, either left or right.

The MPAA needs serious reform. The ratings system has really gone to hell in the last few years.

On topic: this movie looks really funny, but I havent been able to get to the theatre for it. Has anyone seen it? (What did you think?)
