I missed that announcement. I left the panel early on as I didn't know when the exhibition hall closed and I still needed Peter Mayhew's autograph(among others). My friend caught some of it. All he told me was that there'll be a CGI series set during the Clone Wars.

I was also really close up, so I was fearful I'd get the nerve to ask "The Question". apparently everyone else played it safe. I didn't feel like hearing an answer I already knew.

I just remembered that I meant to ask Mayhew if he'd heard of us. Oh well.

The fan DVD bootlegs being sold didn't please me either

Getting back on topic, I'd say it's best just to wait and see.

I wish you would have asked him or Sansweet about a possible release of the holiday special on DVD.

Are you high? The Holiday Special will NEVER see the light of day on an official release. That's why we praise the hard work of people like Ocp & Rikter!!!!!!!

You never know. Someday it may be released, if only as a comedic novelty. I mean, when 2007 rolls around, I'm sure it's possible. They could do a limited, non-marketed release, like they did with R2-D2: Beneath the Dome.

There's no way they release the HS on DVD, imo.
GL has always makes his possible for people to forget it, I really don't know why he would release it on DVD. What could be the sense of that?
He even doesn't want to release the O-OT, so, I guess the HS is far from being a priority...

So, sorry, forget it. It will never be done (or maybe when he will be a senile old man, who knows?)...

mean ANYTHING to you? GL completely disavows the Holiday Special's existance. There's a good reason for that. IT'S HORRIBLE.
You're dreaming if you think that piece of shit will EVER be released officially.

I've constantly wondered whether or not each episode will start with its own crawl set to the Main Title, and if each will run without credits. Will the guilds let Lucasfilm get away with this? And do broacast regulations require the same standards, forcing the issue?

A piece of shit, yeah, but a damn funny one! I mean, you can't seriously beat Lumpy the Wookie, can ya? But I'm happy with the KCCI version. However, I do think the animated segment from the HS should be released. That is actually pretty damn good, IMO. And it deserves to be included on the next home video set of the OT.
"The things that stick in my mind and make me laugh were, like, memos worried about whether or not the Wookie should have pants. They're looking at this thing and saying, "Couldn't he have some lederhosen?" This is great. Of all the things to worry about, the Wookie has no pants." -Mark Hamill

That... would suck... horribly. That should be reserved for the films ONLY. I think the TV series should start like most shows do, with credits and all. It should have an entirely new feel to it. I also think all new music should be composed for it, and very very little of the typical SW music should be used... even the main theme. I think that, in order for the show to be taken seriously, 9it will need to distance itself as far away from the films as possible.

Indeed.

Instead of this "False Report" business, why not change the title to "TV series set between ROTS and ANH" which is more accurate?

I was at the Sansweet panel at Wondercon. I did not stay for the q & a because I was too worked up over the crap I had just been subjected to about the fan club presidency. AND they showed a piece on how the SPFX were done for the prequels. Well, after seeing that you could tell why those movies were so straightforward and boring, as if we didn't already know. It was like a video essay on how to zap all energy of physical believability out of a film. I wanted to stay...I wanted to hear somebody ask the ? so much. I was afraid of doing it myself and being attacked by a bunch of new gen SW fans...them dragging me down the aisle and eating my brains out like zombies. I don't know, but I had to leave. It was so disappointing. The only thing I thought sounded cool was the new lego game for the OT.
What I did hear of the live action series didn't seem to have it set DURING the OT, but before it. I don't think Sansweet had exact timetables. Only the vague 'in between Eps III - IV'. So unless it was discussed in the q & a more, he didn't point to the series being actually DURING ep IV or anything like that.
