If they ask Wendy Carlos to do the soundtrack for it, I think they should do it. Not that I'll be watching it, as it'll be a crappy movie anyway, but I'll buy the soundtrack for it - Wendy Carlos has done, like, 4 movie soundtracks for the past 35 years ("a clockwork orange", "the shining", "tron", and a 1995 movie i cant recall the name right now), and one of them ("the shining") was not even fully released.

But what I ask of Hollycrapwood is, STOP MAKING THE LIVE ACTION FILM OF NEON GENESIS EVANGELION!! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO!!!

Is it a remake, or a sequel??

I had heard rumors about a sequel ever since they announced TRON 2.0 (originally called Tron Killer App), the video game that "starred" the son of Alan Bradley (Bruce Boxleitner's character).

The rumor was that something would happen on the net (I think some super program, not unlike the MCP, gets released and raises havoc), and Jeff Bridges (or another actor playing the same Flynn character) would lead a team of hackers into the computer to fight it.

Tron 2.0 is a game.

I was never too fond of the movie, but I love the soundtrack, as I have mentioned above.

I'm fully aware of that.

But the same time that rumors popped up of the game, Disney was talking about creating a movie sequel as well.

They were going to release the 20th anniversary Tron DVD set (which I own), then later would come the video game, and a little after that, the new movie.

Well, it would appear that we do have a "new movie" coming...just not what I had hoped for/expected.

As an Animator an Disney fan I would like to make the following statement:

Michael Eisner can suck my sweaty nut sack.

OK, Now I've got that off my chest, this comment in the New Tron article made me laugh:

An online environment that entraps people, refuses to release them into the real world and forces them to play all manner of ‘games’? What kind of far-fetched madness is this?

The next CEO can kill the project if he doesn't feel it's worthwhile; it's still in the early stages, so cost shouldn't be too much of an issue.
