The bidding price is ok, not the “buy it now” one. I think, if enough people contribute (more than 10 people at least) then it may be bought. If somebody can contribute a bit extra, then even better.
3 days and 9 hours left (and counting…) before the listing ends. You need to watch it and if enough are interested, then something can be done.
The print has no subtitles burned in. So, using English audio from another source and syncing it shouldn’t be a problem.
There is probably burnt-in subtitles for foreign parts. They’e very rare, but I can recall one at least, when Jack and his buddy choose their beds: “Where is Sven?”, wonders one guy. Sven being the guy who lost his ticket during the poker game earlier. There might be one or two other subtitles during the poker game, I’m not sure.
I asked the seller. He says no subtitles. The “Where’s Sven” and another translation at the Poker game are part of the movie itself. So they will be there. In this case, they’ll most likely be in Italian. Those parts can be replaced with the Eng language HDTV broadcast (2.25:1 aspect ratio. It has a larger framing than the Blu-ray which is slightly zoomed in. If the print is at all acquired, it’d be better to preserve the total height and width of the frame without cropping to 2.35:1.
Deleted the first part as I made a mistake by assuming the seller I contacted offered Titanic as well but it’s a different one, sorry.
Anyway, I’d also be interested and willing to financial contribute to a project here.
You also have to consider that the credits for this print will be in Italian, ex.

Yes, but at least for project usage, this shouldn’t be a major drawback as the English cast could easily be taken from the US Blu-ray then.
However, I’d just take it as it is, I wouldn’t mind. Sometimes German Blu-rays have a German video master as well but as long as I get the best quality, it’s not a major turn off for me.
