Does anyone know where I can find a torrent of the theatrical TPM? I'm not talking about Ady's project, I just really want to get my hands on a copy that's better than the vhs but isn't the dvd cut, preferably one with NTSC speed and not the 4% PAL speedup.

It's kinda funny how AOTC and ROTS are the only ones officially available on dvd and in anamorphic video in their theatrical versions, and even then it's the DLP versions not the 35mm.

ROTS isn't available in its theatrical form. Even the DLP version had the wipe in it that is missing from the DVD

Heh, well now I finally have an answer to something I was wondering about myself. I saw ROTS in DLP twice but that was bookended by 35mm screenings which is why I could never quite remember.

Was the additional dialogue between Padme and Anakin right after his confession scene in the DLP of AOTC or is that also something that was added just for the dvd? I ask because I only saw AOTC in 35mm.

I'm 99% sure that it was in the DLP version (I saw it in DLP in Chicago when it came out).

I saw it 4 or 5 times in DLP form, The additional Padme stuff was not added until the dvd, that and some stuff with Jango's jet pack b4 he dies.  I'm pretty sure the DLP differed from the film prints only with additional shots of Anakin's new mechanical hand during the closing wedding scene.

Tobor is robot spelled backwards.

I only saw AOTC in 35 mm but it's probable that the DLP versions also had the alternate Padmé line when she's lying on the dune after having fallen out of the speeder. The IMAX print certainly had the same audio track as the DVD, where she simply says "uh huh" rather than something like "Yes" after the clone trooper asks if she's ok, as she did in the theatrical 35 mil, a line that didn't sync with her lip movements for that shot.

I'm currently in the process of downloading the AVCHD of ANH, but the speed is abysmal. I tried several different torrents and they're all pretty much the same. Can anyone make any recommendations?

If anyone cares, the torrent for ANH ended up improving in speed, and I'm now seeding.

I just can't wait till TPM ends up as a torrent... or on rapidshare. Either way, I'm looking forward to getting this onto my TV screen!

Hi,

Yesterday, I finished downloading and then I watched Episodes IV & V.

Great Work Adywan!  :)

Unfortunately, video compression is very visible. (viewed on 47" Toshiba LCD and 50" Pioneer Plasma)

Of course I understand that it wouldn't fit on a dvd-9 with less compression.

I hope I will find your work in a higher-bitrate format somehow.

Keep up the Great Work!!

Waiting on a torrent ... obviously no rush, but it would be greatly appreciated.

Finally grabbed Ep 1. The compression artifacts seem extra bad in this one :(. It almost looks like dvd! Shame, as the colour correction is great. I can never decide which versions to watch, the original german broadcasts are miles ahead quality wise but the german crawls are damn annoying!

Episode 1?  Holy shit.  I hadn't realized it had been "released."

So has it been released?  I thought it still needed scenes from the theatrical version and the laserdisc ac3.

No, he's doing that for a standard DVD of the theatrical cut - the AVCHD is the DVD cut, with the DVD 5.1, and it's been released already.

does anyone have a link to the download for Episode 1? I would prefer using a torrent to get it since I do not know how to download so many files from rapid share without exceeding their limit.

Anyone else unable to download rar part 45?? Two days have gone by since I got the rest, and this one file is holding me up!

Use par buddy with one of the par files and it will restore the missing par file. Still don't quite get the whole par rebuilding concept, but it's worked when I needed it!

Trying to work with par buddy... but not having much luck finding the settings used to repair and to add the missing rar.

Par is a whole new thing to me, as I never heard of it before. Any help/advice?

use quickpar instead. Just open one of the par2 files with quickpar and it will scan the set. Once that is complete  just click the "repair" button and it will fix any damaged rars, as long as you have enough par2 files

Ah okay, quickpar it is. The download came with 10 par files.

Update: Says I still need 105 blocks.

thats a lot of damaged files. what usenet provider are you using? Ep1 was only posted a couple of weeks ago so it should still be complete even with an ISPs service.

According to the grabit website it should do all the repairing and extracting automatically for you.  Personally I use alt.binz.  It's never let me down.  Perhaps you should import the nzb and partial files into alt.binz??

i would switch your provider if its giving you that many incomplete files with something so recent.  i use astraweb. i'm only paying $11 per month for their unlimited service through their special offer. its very rare i get any incompletes

I second this.  Also Astraweb are increasing their retention to 365 days.
