I’ll be unable to work on this from the 20th (until next year) so I’ll try to get my things done in the next few days.
Doesn’t matter to me at all. Of course, I put Padme on livable bedrest.
About the sound effect for the Destroyer… by the time we cut back to Finn it seems like people are already reacting to the spectacle. If we are to add a sound it’s have to be immediately prior to or during the cut to that shot.
Yep, there would be a small time window for it if it were to be used.
“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”
So any idea when we can expect TFA:R 2.1?
“You can’t polish a turd. But you can shape it to look like candy.”
I’m hoping for year’s end.
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.
Whenever I get that deleted scene from SirRidley that should be the only thing I have to do, unless I’m missing anything.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)

Great news! Would be super fun to watch the final version of this right before the Last Jedi over the holidays!
From NeverarGreat, needing:
Recolored Leia deleted scene (needs it from Ridley first)
From Sir Ridley, needing:
Retimed sequences - Starkiller firing, Starkiller destruction
Tweaked audio - music brought down around Maz/Han and Snoke lines
3PO leg removal shot, sans widescreen matte
And “weapon fully recharged in 30 seconds” line - waiting on two specific people
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

One last nitpick: when the weapon is charged, the cropped Hux shot should be cropped a little bit more if possible.
I’ve watched the edit 2.0 with my family and they didn’t notice it was a fanedit (although they knew it was). So guys, again congrats for that impressively seamless job !
HERE BEGINS 2 SLIGHT SPOILERS ABOUT EPISODE VIII
I REPEAT : HERE BEGINS 2 SLIGHT SPOILERS ABOUT EPISODE VIII
With TLJ on every screen now, it seems that a few elements of TFA might be slighly inconsistent with its sequel:
Maz:
Whomever you’re waiting for on Jakku… they’re never coming back. = > ok with that
But… there’s someone who still could => hum… should be removed ?
Snoke:
Leave the base at once and come to me with Kylo Ren. => ok with that
It is time…to complete his training. => hum… is there any relevance to TLJ in this sentence (is Kylo completing any training in VIII ?)
(it’s nitpicking I know. I still think the last Snoke scene, which doesn’t have anything to add especially with Ep VIII, should even be removed entirely. In another edit I guess 😃)
END OF SPOILERS

TINY SPOILERS INCOMING
I disagree.
^ What Ridley said about those two.
And thanks, I hope these things are easily enough done, but I understand if you can’t complete them before then. 😃
And with TLJ… nothing about TFA really fits snugly with it. I don’t think the movie wants any of it to.
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.
POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT
This slight change may not belong in this edit, but with the mindset of maintaining continuity, any thoughts on applying a filter and changing the color of 3P0’s red arm? It would appear he found a decent droid painter for it between TFA and TLJ.
END SPOILER
His arm was already golden again at the very end of TFA.

That whole shot bothered me from day one. I think the studio screwed up on that one. Should have still been Red. Also that was not Anthony in the suite.
Well would ya looky there, it is.
Now I’m confused how at 2:01:46 we have red, and then at 2:03:10 it’s suddenly golden. (timestamps represent V2 of this edit.)
The retimed shots in the firing and destruction sequences are fine IMO, the only ones that desperately need fixing are the shots of the Falcon appearing and Chewie rescuing Rey and Finn after the duel.
Unless those shots are part of one of the other sequences you’re talking about. But those forest shots are the only ones I noticed as being “off” at all.
Yeah, those are included in my shorthand. 😃

Is there a repeated Poe shot? The one that he looks over to the hole in the oscillator. Is that the same one used for when he’s looking at the Starkiller’s laser?
I might just be me brain farting but what is the status on the fixed hood shots of Kylo for the snoke scene?

I think so.
Originally I had used the shot of the female pilot reacting to an explosion (which I think fits better), but I suppose it was too obvious a repeat if the original scene was going to be played verbatim. I think some editing could be done to put her reaction back in the Starkiller firing and simply remove that reaction from the original scene.

I think this would be good, IMO the Poe shot is too noticeable. Sorry it took me so long to say it though, I guess I was just so immersed in TLJ that only now that I decided to watch TFA and saw it again I remembered of saying it.

I would be very interested in a TFA and TLJ edit that did nothing but make his arm red throughout.

I think if you add some Starkiller laser glow it shouldn’t be a problem.

Quoted because I was also under the impression this was still being worked on and I haven’t seen it mentioned in these “what’s left to do” discussions.

I did that when I worked on the slow motion effect for that part, so the shot isn’t identical in color, at least.

Cool, I’d imagine it’s probably not too noticeable. Haven’t seen the finished edit yet.
