Thank you again for uploading the fixed version.  I admit I haven't had the chance to watch it again yet but I'm looking forward to it soon. Also looking forward to the bonus disc!

Shout Factory is releasing it. They have a history of releasing blu-ray discs with compression issues/blocking. I have seen it myself on many of their discs. The print will likely look very nice, but they tend to ruin it with their compression often times.

I'm curious myself how their release will look, but I'm not expecting any miracles.

Here's a review if anyone is interested. Doesn't sound too promising.

Thanks for the link to the review; it seems video quality is not the best - I watched the small chuncks on youtube, and dust & dropouts seems to be still there, like in the DVD and HDTV, so the master used should be the same...

But the DTS-MA 5.1 track could be interested, plus I'm really curious to watch the new featurette... we'll see when it's out.

Maybe the latter will be useful, in the case I'll work on the extra disc!

OK, I took just one screenshot from highdefdigest's review, the same frame from my project, and made a comparison:

Maybe BD color grading is better, but considering the source of [spoRv] is an highly compressed 720p HDTV, the latter is not that bad, plus BD has maybe too much grain - or it's due to JPG compression? - and dirt...

What do you think, folks?

Think you're right, the spoRv seems to be warmer, and the bd does appear to be pretty grainy.

Saw that the BD was coming and waited but that's disappointing now that I see the side by side, think I'll head over and see if there are any seeds
Thanks!

Thanks for the comparison image. I think I like the blu-ray's color grading better, based on that one shot. But it's only a single shot so it's tough to say for sure without seeing the whole blu-ray or more comparison shots. The blu-ray does seem grainier though. Blu-ray.com has a review also now, with more screenshots (they hated the film).

I'm not against grain by any means, but the blu-ray seems excessive. Then again, if that's how the film was meant to look, I  don't have a problem with it.
