Superman by Taolar (Formally: Son of Jorel) WORKPRINT AVAILABLE — Page 15

So I finally got it off demonoid, and I must say it really did bring that nostalga of being a kid and remembering the movies for being much faster pased and I found it really enjoyable. For not having watched Superman 1 or 2 in years I feel the edit worked in bridging the 2 movies into one I really wasn't sure where one ended and 2 began, great job.

The only thing I can say is I do miss the Mt. Rushmore bit, and when Zod and crew are terroizing the town Ursa suddenly has a police badge on and I can't remember if she took it from a character you removed, but I'd like to see where she got it from.

First of all fantastic work so far Taolar. I really look forward to seeing the final edit. Anyways there is one thing that has always bothered me on the first Superman that is still there on the workprint cut. The Kryptonite rock around Supes after Miss Tessmarker saves him from drowning is no longer green. Is there any chance that could be fixed by putting the green back in the rock by any chance?

I never noticed that before.  I took a look at it, and it does appear to be the same color, but not glowing.  For some reason I never noticed that.  I'll see what I can do, but can't make promises.  :) Thanks!

Hi Taolar hows things coming along with this its been 2 months since any word! Really looking forward to your finished product as I believe it will be the definitive Supes Fan Edit that will be out there.

Hi lorang, I've been too busy to do much work on this, unfortunately.  But that's because business is up, which is good.  It definitely feels like the economy is getting better.  Hopefully this will somehow mean I can spend time on this in the near future.  I'm still passionate about it.  And I plan to show some stuff off by the end of the month.  :) Thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the workprint. :)  The Rushmore scene is a little too golden age comic booky for this edit.  And I'll see what I can do about explaining the badge, because I agree that it shouldn't just come out of nowhere like that.  I can't make any promises though.  Thanks!

Hi Taolar,
I was wondering if you'd made any progress.

Hey guys,

I'm sorry to say I haven't done very much with this project since releasing the workprint.  Nothing at all in the past few months, other than thinking about it.

My deadline of releasing it "sometime this year" isn't possible.  I have too much going on.

But this project is NOT DEAD.  I will release this.  And hopefully will have much more time between Christmas and April.

Thanks for still being interested.  I'll do my best not to disappoint.

Good on you Taolar, thought we had lost it there.

Hey, that would be cool.  I'd love to have that as much as I'd love to get the original Superman II in HD!

Hi Taolar hows things going with the project, would love to see a snag free release.

Hi Lorang,

Unfortunately I've had two computer crashes.  While very little of SoJ was lost (nothing I didn't have copies of, I think), I did lose all the software configurations I was using for various things, like converting the HD footage, and haven't had the time/motivation to get everything re-installed and re-configured.  So nothing has been done yet.

Thanks for your continued interest.  I'm not giving up!  Just procrastinating...

Glad to hear the project isn't dead after all your hard work that went into the pre release, seems to good of an idea to drop, yes there are lots of fan edits of part 1 and 2 but noting of one independant film in respect of both parts.

And your newly filmed sections were a wonder and slotted in greatly to give a great intro to superman returns, hope you get the time to put the gloss on a near completed project.

I can't find it on Demonoid. Can anyone tell me the name of the file so I can find it?

Very eager to see this.

Thanks everyone for the continued interest.  Its not dead.  Just in a coma.

Has anyone had the opportunity to watch Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut Redux by Booshman?

I'm not quite ready to sit through another version of S2, but it sounds like he's done some extensive reworking of the audio, color and visual effects.

Is it worth watching?  Is there anything worth Taolar stealing?  Is the new ending an improvement?

I'm not trying to hijack this thread, but as long as Taolar is still editing, it's worth comparing other edits before the final cut.

I like Booshman's cut.  There are aspects of it I dislike, but overall it's very well done, especially (as you mention) the color changes and such.

I just wish it was in NTSC.

Man that jdownloader thing sucks and the steps they make you go through to download it also sucks.

I keep getting reconnect errors and can't download.

Tell me more about Bushman's cut. I like the fanedit site. Got me curious.

It's been a while since I've seen it, so I don't remember much.

FYI, the Superman 1 & 2 combination fan edit released last month on Fanedit.org, titled "Superman: Son of Jor-El" is not mine.

Hopefully there is no confusion.
