Superman II: The Restored International Cut?

Just have a question regarding this fan preservation project.

From what I understand it was mostly constructed from PAL recordings however it was then released in both PAL and NTSC formats. I've never seen a listing for it anywhere in the PAL format, but I'm guessing it must be out there somewhere.

When RIC was assembled would it be likely that the footage was converted to NTSC before restoration, or would conversions have been made afterwards?

If the later is the case then would the PAL version be of better picture quality?

Personally I prefer PAL, as it's what I'm used to, but it would be interesting to know how the usage of PAL footage was tackled given this project was mainly going to please those running NTSC.

I think it was PAL and then converted to NTSC, however, when he started the project he was using a video mix machine. Old School!!!

Remember, Highlander, you’ve both still got your full measure of life. Use it well, and your future will be glorious.

I think it was a mix of both NTSC and PAL sources and the original release was in both NTSC and PAL, my PAL set came on really cheap media and was riddled with CRC write errors and did not play, copy or extract

SUPERMAN II R.I.C. INFO You can also get the original TIFF DVD cover there still!

Does anyone still have the cover + disc art for this release.

I still have my 2 disc copy (in NTSC format, not PAL) that I paid for (and paid quite a bit I must say) back in 2003. The cover art didn't take up the entire paper though, so there's white borders on all sides on both the front and the back. But I didn't care. I was just so happy to finally have the version of Superman 2 that I grew up with, which to me will always be the most complete version. Not a Lester cut or a Donner cut. An almost perfect 50/50 between what each director shot. Remove Lester's humor and put Brando back in, and it's the perfect film. THAT'S what I, as well as many other fans wanted when we wrote in to WB all those years, clamoring for the footage to be released.

If there is interest I’ll host them.
