OK, remember the day when Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat ruled the arcades? Which is your favorite? Seeing as I used to use MORTAL KOOOOOOMMMMBAAAAAT as my catch phrase I think you know...

I own one Mortal Kombat game and no Street Fighter games, but I voted for SF because I always found it to be more fun, and I have more childhood memories attached to it. I'm not really too much into fighting games to begin with, though.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Back in the day my parents didn't let me play violent video games. I only had SF2. But when I was 12 I got GTA 3 and i'm sick of SF.

Has to be MK. My favourite character was Scorpion. Loved the spear throw.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

Back in the day, my mom didn't really care about violent video games, and I feel I'm all the better person for it. She bought me Mortal Kombat Trilogy when I was 11.

Believe it or not, I have never played Mortal Kombat. Not in the arcade. Not on a home video game system. Not 1, 2, 3 or any other version.
That said, I have to go with Street Fighter.

Now, if you were asking about movies, I've seen TV versions of both, and I actually think the Mortal Kombat movie was better (keep in mind, both movies were pretty bad). Such a shame that Street Fighter was Raul Julia's last movie. He was a better man than that.

think id have to agree with starkiller as far as the movies go, but the Japanese animated Street Fighter II beats them both

Neither. I prefered the SNK figting games, as the King of Fighters series, the best being 96, the arcade version. Ah, I remember I got my thumbs red from playing that game on the arcade.

And I also had some good moments playing Mortal Kombat 2 on my friends Genesis when I went into his home to do math homeworks and watch my Beavis and Butthead tapes, back in 94.

But, I'm not going to be an hypocrite here, the best 2d figting game ever is SNK vs Capcon 2. So.... between the 2.... I gotta pick Street Fighter.
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering
